Not to mention a number of them are poor... which also correlates with crime...
and more importantly recidivism.
Rich dude or Middle Class dude gets caught committing a crime... they generally stay straight after that.
Poor guy some feel they need to steal... and crime sentences are harder on repeat offenders.
I'd bet you though that Europes numbers don't look that differently. They don't on unemployment based on race the last time I checked.
The big difference is that it's a hell of a lot harder to get those kind of numbers from Europe, like pulling teeth...
ESPIECALLY France where the average french official would tell you your a racist for wanting to see what the incarceration rates are related to a persons race.
Though estimates by others like sociologists puts the Muslims at about 70% of all people in jail despite only being 12% of the population.
Now, Black people in the US I don't think is anywhere near that amount. I think Black males are 35% of the prison population, and women prisoners are far rarer then men... so I don't even see it hitting 50% unless i'm wrong. I wanna say African americans make up 12% of the population in the US.

Couple of major factors.
1. War on Drugs.
2. Privatization of Prisons and the hidden factors of this. Lobbyists for Prison industry have successfully lobbied for harsher sentences. Judges have been corrupted and been found taking kickbacks for harsher sentences, parole boards have been corrupted. Private prisons arent incented to rehabilitate people. There are incented to keep the people in.
Minor:
1. People deliberately committing crimes and getting caught for free healthcare. it does happen, but I dont have and data that shows how often.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

So rare that it makes the news. You don't have a statistic for it, because it wouldn't register as one. It'd be like VGchartz trying to figure out if a game sold 1 or 2 copies.

Yeah, I wouldn't blame it on current overt racism so much as past racism and current structual problems due to racism.

Yeah, it's kinda like if your running a race, and one guy is forced to stop for 10 minutes in the race.
Even if you've got equality from then on, the other guy is always going to be behind.
Which becomes an ethical quagmire in a larger economic framework, since you've got one group disadvantaged by past deeds, however by directly helping them you are hurting other unrelated groups.
Afterall your typical billionaire doesn't care about a poor white guy anymore then he does a poor black guy, whehter that poor white guy was around during the worse eras or whether his faimily just imigrated here from romania.

wow! that was great. perfect analogy.
You should be glad for that. Here people kill, steal, rape, illegally carry guns and don't go to jail for that. They are on the streets doing everything again.
