Forums - Gaming - So, I just don't feel like gaming anymore. Magic is gone.

So, I've always been a gaming and a Nintendo fan at heart, I've played many of my games countless of times, getting every coin, cutting every piece of grass, opening every chest, clearing all of the screen before I could continue.

But not anymore.

I started to have this feeling as soon as I finished DKCR on my Wii, I finished it, and just didn't feel like ever playing it again. Same with Pikmin 2 I bought in the same time, and while playing through them I loved them.

Then the other day I got Ghost Trick for my DS, loved it, played it and left it there to die.

Then the other day I finally realized that I looked at my vast collection of games wondering what to replay. I couldn't stand any of my games more than 5 minutes before leving them to gather dust.

Then I noticed something worse, my so much played Wii wasn't played since early june, and I'm pretty sure my DS was in a similar state.

Afterwards I noticed all of the hype I had for 3DS after E3 was gone too, I might not be geting it at all at this rate.

It just that I jus don't feel like gaming or doing anything videogame related, my fantasy is gone, I hope in the future this madness is ended.

Does anyone feel the same? Magic for your games is gone? You don't wanna play more games?

Not really, though I don't understand how you could ever replay your games that much. I only replay my games rarely when I get a sort of tinkling in the back of my head saying "I need to play this game again!".

That's because there's something wrong in your life. You lost your passion for gaming, because deep within you know that you need to do something more important than playing video games.

You know, actually, I feel you're right.

I'd rather be doing anything else, or I feel more comfortable being on Facebook on my smartphone than being alone playing a game for the 5th time.

That's what first and foremost playing video games for stories does to you.

It might, if that's what I did. Can't say I do though, so yeah...

My tolerance for games has gone down tremendously. I used to be able to tolerate games good or bad but now I just can't take games I find "poor." Not many games are hitting me with that PS1/2 magic nowadays.

No offense intended, but I think this is a sign you've played video games too much...

Just take a break and you should get your "magic" back.

I went through the same earlier this year. I didn't play anything from January to May. So all I can say is just take some time away from gaming and maybe in a couple of months you'll regain that spark.

I think the alone part maybe the problem, maybe u need to play with friends( locally) more often. Or maybe u just need a break for awhile.

I completely disagree. I believe the opposite has occured to you. I realize you're a nintendo fan, but what hardcore titles are there for you that draw you back? Neither the DS or Wii are quite capable of delivering such a rich expierence that  a PC or modern console could ( in b4, a few examples.)

Why not switch genres, try something new?
