@HeavenlyKing

Your views are as skewed as the views of some developers. The used game market isn't a hindrance it is a godsend. It creates a more dynamic market which not only promotes reinvestment, but allows for a larger market place. Let us be clear on this gaming isn't a inexpensive pass time. The majority of consumers cannot afford to spend more then four hundred dollars a year buying a new game every two months.

Without the bottom the top will suffer. Buying used games makes buying new games more affordable. The sale of used games puts more cash back into the channel for the purchase of new games. If I buy a used game I am still contributing to the development cycle, because someone sold that game to me, and that someone got new money to spend on new games.

Gaming isn't inexpensive, and the used market makes it more affordable for more people to game. Without that the market would be noticeably smaller then it is today, and the sales would suffer, because there would be less available cash. Personally I live within a budget, and try diligently to keep my game spending under three hundred dollars a year. Since I would like to play a new game every one to two months. I have to buy used games to give me bulk, and no four games a year isn't enough to meet my needs.

Sorry out of time have to head out in a minute. Quick answer educated speculation. Most signs point to this game having to register, but no mention of a mandatory download from the original post.

It sure is cheap on smartphones. That's where all the AAA developers what you to go. /s

well before anybody post i buy games new anyway: thats not the issue here.

its a stupid idea. i had plans to preorder rage but at this rate its not a buy for another 2 yrs for me. Battlefeild3s needing origin for PC is another stupid move. where do these fools (i know its about money and sales) come up with this stuff.

if i were retailers i wouldn't even put the game on shelves cause its a ripoff to the consumer.

if enough consumers complain about this Wal-Mart(who doesn't sale use games)will put pressure on this to change or risk having there game pulled of store shelves. they did it to the music industry.

They publishers/developers just forgot that it's the retailers that are helping them sell their games. Piss them off and they'll just selling your game, lol.

I still want the game, but now I know I'll buy it used just to piss off iD. lol

Neh thats cause the OP is from a random rant from someone else.. this is DLC:

You still have to download it, but you don't have to pay for it. Those hatches are all over. Most people never find them. But as soon as you do, you're like, oh. And then you start to look for it. That's our first-time buyer incentive.

agreed.

$300 bucks a yr? hell no!  so far this gen i've bought 4 games used (heavenly sword price was still to high new for a 6 hr game,killzone2 funds were low, ratchet and clank future didn't have any new and its been out for 4 yrs, and valkyria chronicles test try. wanted to take it back and get it new but my brouther lost the receipt) so how do you managee this?

i'm a 6th gen greatest hits ($19.99 and no higher some restrictions do apply/ $59.99 now 2 games a yr) and have (dantes inferno $17.99 demon souls, vanquish, and demon souls $19.99)only bought 4 (5 games total not including PS2 games)games this yr new. thats a total of $82.70 (ruff guest/ would be more i if i wouldn't have left my job) without R&C future.

i'll likely make to $150 by yrs end.

ain't that easy lol.

Be the first retailer to screw rage and Bethesda can do nasty stuff to do you when they release Skyrim ;)

Besides with digital around the corner they don't really want to screw with selling games. Look what happened to PC games.

Retailers hardly sell any these days and the market hasn't crashed, the sales just moved online where in the end the publisher is a lot happier ( no used games sales, lower distribution costs, Steam takes a smaller margin than most brick and mortar stores..)

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Two issues with your post.

More and more retailers allow you to buy anything with the  cash you get from trade in so there is a smaller effect on buying new games than you think ( Amazon and Bets Buy give you cash that you can spend on anything they sell, not specifically games). A lot of people that trade-in actually buy used so not sure how it helps publishers there.

The used games market is about non existant on the PC and last I checked the PC market isn't dead or dying...
