Just got my 3 day pass in the mail, fuck yes!

I'm going to be there, I created an identicle thread a day or so ago. Last year I couldn't find any VGChartz members going. Unfortunetly I didn't get my pass in the mail. As a Canadian citizen I have to go pick it up at the Sheraton or pay an extra like 25$ shipping. I went with shipping last year but decided its cheaper and more conveniant to just pick it up prior to the conference. I didn't realize you get a seperate HaloFest pass. Man I'm so psyched.
Have you gone before? this is my second year

Your going to love it. Apparently a whole floor is dedicated to Halo Fest this year so if your a Halo Fan your going to have an amazing time. Not to mention Nintendo should have some of those block buster 3DS titles playable alongside SkywardSword and Kirby! Man I can't wait only downer is my friend is sick and couldn't come with me, I had the second ticket and a double hotel room and a second bus ticket. So I tried finding another friend to come and couldn't. Now my dad is going to come, he loves to watch me play games and he buys himself games all the time. But he plays with the game for like half and hour and when he can't get the controls he asks me to play for him and watches. He says he's going to have a blast but it won't be the same as having a friend along!
But yah I bet PSVita will be there too and a new game announcement is supposed to be made at the show. Plus all the keynotes its going to be amazing.
I would suggest VGChartz users meet up at the convention but theirs only two of us. Come on guys theirs over 75,000 members and only two of us will be at PAX disgraceful. Also you'd think at least one of the VGChartz staff would be going I mean its only the biggest open to public game convention in North America!

lol I got so many panels to check out, also going to check out the IGN meet and greet after the show is over on Friday or something and get wasted most likely, nobody is coming with me until Sunday =_= but that's OK since there are only 2 panels I'm interested in on Sunday, Old Republic and the NCsoft one hehe, will have a lot of time checking out what's on the floor, hopefully the lines won't be too long since a lot of people will be there.

I wish I could go! I would love to see Halo fest!

Umm last year I was in line for Duke Nukem 5-hrs. Some people waited up to 8 and the shortest I heard of was 4. If theirs a new game announced and on the floor your going to have to wait a long time to play it, many just skip those games and check out all the less popular stuff. I was in line for DragonAge II for 2 and a half hours. It was insane.
Their is 80,000 people on the show floor at any given time (So I heard last year) and the booths are always busy. A friend I know doesn't even play anything he spends all three days collecting swag. Another I know goes and only plays games made by studios he wants to talk to. So say he liked Mega Man, he stood in line to play Dead Rising II and then spent the whole time chatting with the developer.
It depends on what you want, others I met went to line up as soon as the doors openned. Then the rest of the day checked out the less popular titles.
I myself will be going to my favorite games, standing in the lines. I'd rather see 5-10 games I really am interested in then 1 or 2 of them and then just see less popular titles.
Also hate to break it to you, but you will also have to deal with Press. I was in line for F3AR last year. It was my turn I sat down picked up the controller. Suddenly the WB guy grabs it away from me and asks me to get up, he said I'd be next in line. A guy with a press pass got the controller sat down and played for like half an hour to fourty five minutes (Regular play time was 15-min) I saw his press badge but the guy didn't work for any press company I knew, he didn't even have a camera he was taking pics with his phone. Then he got up to leave but another press person had arrived and the guy told me I'd have to wait again. That press guy wasn't as much of a jerk he played his fifteen minutes and left. But all in all I waited an hour after it was my turn because press got the right to bud in line and kick me out.
Now I understand press need to play the games too. But seriously press get E3 and tons of events plus advance copies etc...etc... us gamers only get one event to go to in order to play the next games.
Oh well rant over , anyways look forward to massive lines. This year I've planned out every panel I'm going to and planned out which days and hours I'll spend at certain booths. Plus gave myself some time to line up for big games.
PAX is going to be a blast but be prepared you won't have enough time to make every panel you want while playing and seeing every game and booth you want too.
Last year I didn't end up at a single panel I had planned to go to four. Even after spending the whole three days on the floor I still didn't get to every booth I wanted to check out. This year with HaloFest I'll be in an even worse position. Thats why I'm planning, my best advice to you is plan, this is 100x better then Disney Land and you only have three days to enjoy it!

Sounds to me like they should just make it a 6 day event lol, I'd totally pay for 6 days.
