Snakenobi,

You said a lot of things can be mentioned there could be found in many other's life. Can you show some like-instances?

those good qualities that you mentioned were the same every leader had for their people

why do you think people fought, just for the fun of it?

Slavery and racism were prevalent among non-muslims until one-two centuries ago (racism still exist). But Muhammad pbuh cancelled slavery and no muslim ever practiced that afterwards.

i would say that is bad thing, they got blinded by the relgion so much that they neglected other real life.

racism is bad but it is what the world has

you can't just say it isn't there and most of the muslim people started to mix so after mixture the past of racism goes away.

i would rather support a person who identifies race and understand why race is a problem not just say race shouldn't matter

If bravery does not mean great, then what? We are talking about rulers here. So, bravery is one of the key elements here.

sure bravery is a good quality but there should be a good reason to it too.

people who just go and plunder for the glory would not last.people who plundered for their won people and for the cause then they would be remembered

His achievements were not for the few decades he ruled but lasted many years after his death. Muslims ruled Spain over 800 years, in Indian subcontinent for 800 years, Turkey had a great run in conquering... But I don't go for the detail in that. The point is that, his influence ran through several generations after his death.

i would not like to associate religion with this thread,it would be based upon a single man's laurel.

Around the Network

Charlemagne. The remnants of the other's are pretty much dead. Almost all Western Europeans are his descendents (or so I heard on QI, a British informative quizz show).

Charlemagne conquered europe, europe conquered the world and the europeans made America the top dog as it currently is. The seeds that he planted are still alive well over 2,000 years and never been conquered by any non-european forces (Parts of Spain and Portugal had fallen to the Arabs but were removed by Charlemange's father Pepin the Short who's father was Charles Martel).

I know the romans conquered a bit but that was done over a period of time under different rulers.

The European rulers that came after Charlemange just continued a process he had started.

The seeds planted by Khan and Darius have long been uprooted and the remnants taken from the top table of world power.
Khan's China is rising again but was conquered by Japan in the late 19th century and bullied by the europeans.

That's just my opinion, doesn't mean I am right.

i would not like to associate religion with this thread

Why not? The thread talks about ruling and we are discussing that. What is the problem if religion comes in this? Is religion a forbidden thing?
