Charlemagne. The remnants of the other's are pretty much dead. Almost all Western Europeans are his descendents (or so I heard on QI, a British informative quizz show).

Charlemagne conquered europe, europe conquered the world and the europeans made America the top dog as it currently is. The seeds that he planted are still alive well over 2,000 years and never been conquered by any non-european forces (Parts of Spain and Portugal had fallen to the Arabs but were removed by Charlemange's father Pepin the Short who's father was Charles Martel).

I know the romans conquered a bit but that was done over a period of time under different rulers.

The European rulers that came after Charlemange just continued a process he had started.

The seeds planted by Khan and Darius have long been uprooted and the remnants taken from the top table of world power.
Khan's China is rising again but was conquered by Japan in the late 19th century and bullied by the europeans.

That's just my opinion, doesn't mean I am right.
