This is a video game site and although I see nothing wrong with the community discussing outside topics amongst themselves I feel that less active users like myself who may only want to address "hot" topics regarding video games are being turned off from the site but seeing so many off-topic threads highlighted on the homepage. My suggestion would be to keep the homepage hot topics module confined to video game discussions. I really don't come here to talk about politics or religion. I have more qualified discussion forums to discuss these topics.
