Need to continue to cut future costs and remove the damn Bush era tax cuts which were stupid to begin with. It amazes me how so many republicans are clamoring about the debt levels when after 2001 and afterward all they did was try to increase it.

We had a surplus and a declining debt of 6trillion. Now its over 14trillion and they still won't undo the incredibly stupid cuts to the rich and the corporations.

Now we're looking like inept children who can't agree on anything and about to default because minority of the republican party wants to run everything in the extreme. Damn, I hate the tea party. Bunch of extremists. I hope they lose all support in 2012... sad part is there are too many religious zealots in many areas to keep them in.

you do realize obama and his democratic congress made those tax rates his tax cuts, right?

and you do know that said tax cuts went to every american, right?

and you do realize that eliminating those tax cuts wouldnt put a scratch on a dent to our debt, right?

and you do realize obama has added more to the debt than bush did, in a 1/3 of the time, right?

and you do realize that the tea party is the only reason we are even making "cuts" in the first place, right?

Lol, I wouldn't even try to argue logic with him.  He seems pretty blinded by hatred.

Except the fact that a number of the things said above need to be qualified, or also are flat out wrong.

Obama has not added more debt than Bush in 1/3 the time.  You take 2009 and put that under the previous administration, because it was their budget.

Second, reversing the tax cuts would help to close the revenue gap currently going on.  The reality is not only did the tax cuts not get reverses, more tax cuts were added.

Third, Obama didn't in any way get what he proposed, because any tinkering with the tax cuts was a non-starter with the GOP.  Hard to own up to something exclusively when you have to make a compromise.

It is important that people see the full picture, but they won't, when are driven by a partisan agenda that prevents them from seeing it.

2 words: Super Majority.

Obama had that for the first 2 years of his presidency. it didnt matter what the republicans did, they could have unilaterally voted against anything and everything that obama proposed, and it wouldnt have mattered. they could have got any thing they wanted done, including eliminating tax brakes for so called rich people. they chose not to because they knew it would be political suicide

1 word: Filibuster

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/28/AR2010122803998.html

When Lyndon Johnson was majority leader in the Senate, he needed to file for cloture to end a filibuster only once. During President Obama's first two years, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid filed for cloture 84 times. To put that in perspective, the filibuster was used more in 2009 than in the 1950s and 1960s combined.

Anything Obama tried to do was filibustered duiring the first two years, to the extent a having complete control would do it.  But, anyhow, see whatever you want to see here, it is easier on you.

ummm... filibusters can be stoped, you know with 60 votes, something they had, you know a supermajority, they could stop any filibuster they wanted

January 2010, the end of the super majority for Democrats.  I guess you can also get on Obama for trying to be more diplomatic to bring change to Washinton also.  Had he played hardball, he might of been able to ramrod things through congress.

Observe this...

Large spike in flibustering.  And more on  it here, also including post 2008:

is that a joke, he did nothing close to that

I don't disagree it's a large spike in Filibustering, but you mentioned that 2009 had more than all of the 50's and 60's combined. But so did every year of the the 2000's. Also notice that big spike still had Bush in office. So it's not an anti-Obama thing as you suggested.
