Forums - Gaming - EA to offer $25/£17, 3 day demos prior to retail release

EA Sports has launched a new Season Ticket service.

Available for 2000 Microsoft Points (£17 / $25) for one year, Season Ticket holders can download the full versions of EA Sports titles three days before general release.

Once the game is available at retail, the download will expire. However, all game data and Achievements will carry over into the full game.

Debuting with Madden NFL 12 later this month, it will further include FIFA, NHL Hockey and Tiger Woods PGA Tour.

The EA Sports Season Pass will also include discounts on all downloadable content, provide exclusive web content as well as an in-game membership badge.

"EA Sports Season Ticket is an exciting programme for our core fans - it lets our biggest fans play earlier, play more and play better than anyone else," said EA Sports president Peter Moore.

"EA Sports Season Ticket is an important step in our vision for transforming how deeply fans connect with the sports games they love through digital products and services. We're excited to continue evolving EA Sports Season Ticket as we listen to what consumers want most in their gaming experiences."

The EA Sports Season Ticket will be available on Xbox 360 in Europe from today, while both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners in North America can subscribe.

Cut those games to tiny pieces and sell them for 200$ :p

I'm confused, so it would be $20 USD on top of the cost of the game, right?

Though 3DS and PS3 showed that some people will pay any price for anything (and i've got my launch 3DS right here, so i'm insulting myself here), so i guess this is a pretty smart way to get 33% more revenue for doing jack shit

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

awesome, cant wait!!!!!!! so excited!!!!!!!

It's a one time price though, so you only pay once for having the service a year. Including discounts on DLC and early access to all the EA Sports games.

Oh, well that is a decent value if you are really into multiple EA Sports games.

i'm not sure it i would agree with decent value ... less insulting??  oh well, let the market decide if this is worth it but i wouldn't pay even if it included EAs entire catalog of new releases.

You have to see it from the perspective of someone who's already apeshit for EA Sports. Plunk just $20 down and you get early access to everything for a year, doesn't sound too bad. What publisher or developers' games make you go apeshit, that you absolutely have to have it day one and now you get the opportunity to get all of them ahead of day one?

this will provide insight to my original answer i suppose: none.   i buy things on amazon with the free shipping specifically cause i'm willing to wait a few days or a week when it means i save $20 on the purchase.
