No, they shouldn't be worried. If they can avoid the mistakes that Nintendo have made, they should be okay. I don't like the idea that people are forwarding that if Nintendo did this bad Sony has no chance, or that the market is apparently gone because Nintendo had trouble in it. Nintendo f*cked up, bigtime. If Sony proceeds cautiously and avoids the pitfalls, they can do quite well imo. For one, don't mess up the launch. That's incredibly important. I'm hoping for at least 5 games out on day 1 that are either innovative in even the smallest way or are just damn good games. Uncharted, Wipeout, Little Deviants, Gravity. If it could launch with stuff like this and maybe a few others, I think they'll be fine.

Well played....

Vita will be just fine.
at this point i see no problems going forward. most of my crew are who hate handhelds plan on getting one, and all they talk about is Vita.
no mention of 3DS
Looked at objectively compared to last gen handheld situation we have
PSV has touch screen, touch pad, accelerometer, second analogue, flash media over UMD (which were bulky and annoying) and of course the better specs over psp
3DS has 3D and better specs over DS
PSV is easier to program for and has better control options, 153 third parties are already developing for it on psv where 3DS 3rd party devs seem to be pulling out and on psv's launch the gab between the two systems will be 20 less then it was with DS and psp
all and all I think the psv will do better then psp and 3DS worse then DS despite the price cut, so while psv isn't the beat someone over the head obvious choice anymore I don't see any reason for Sony to panic
