lifetime sales totals are from the time period of the birth of Jesus until July 2nd 2011.

Calendar year Quarter 2 sales totals are from April 3rd 2011 to July 2nd 2011.

if you feel i have made any mistakes with the number, please tell me and i will correct it.

also i dont know how people do the percentage (%) so i left that out, if someone want to give me those numbers i will put them in.

 

time for my (poor) analysis.

it looks like the ps3 is either pretty close to accurate, or vgchartz has it ever so slightly over tracked. maybe by ~100k.

PSP is way under tracked by probably 2+ million

PS2 its not even funny how under tracked it is. unless there is really over 9 million sitting on selves.

Xbox 360 looks dead on to me.

Wii looks wayy over tracked. its sold more than its shipped. it needs to be adjusted down by ~700k

Nintendo DS looks a over tracked, by around 300k.

3DS looks wayy under tracked by about 800k.

so there you have it.

for people that are interested the PS3/xbox gap is 3.5 million.
PSP>XBOX>Wii>DS>3DS in sales... quite impressive. was there a price cut this year, looks like it worked. to bad sony doesnt do by region sales breakdown

That shipped gap has grown by the way... it was down to 2.9m in September 2010.  So it increased by 600k in less than a year.


i wonder why youre the only one posting here, doesnt anyone else find these numbers interesting or at least worth discussing.

That shipped gap has grown by the way... it was down to 2.9m in September 2010.  So it increased by 600k in less than a year.

so according to VGC xbox has .7m on shelves and PS3 has .5. do you reckon those numbers are accurate or do you think they might be over/under tracked for one or the other

So 360 and PS3 are pretty close to right on.

PSP and PS2 are heavily undertracked

Wii is pretty overtracked

DS is slightly overtracked 

And the 3DS might be slightly undertracked...or Nintendo just overshipped them because they thought they were going to sell better then they are.

my numbers are out of date as of about 1/2 hour ago.  adjustments have happend.  360 up 100k, PS3 down 100k, wii doww 800k.  So I'm afraid your charts and mine need updating.
