I like one of the quotes near the end.. "Those games that are rated mature are usually because of graphic violence but not mature content really."

O...kay...

How is this anything special? It should be common sense that game ratings only account for violence, swearing, obscenity, nudity etc. Same as in movies.

While you probably wouldn't think the documentary is ground breaking, I believe that you would enjoy it for the most part.  There are tons of good quotes for numerous people in the game industry (most aren't indie type developers) and has different ways of looking at the video game industry than the average gamer even thinks about.  It is basically trying to show that the video game industry can tackle difficult real life situations/events (possibly better than any other entertainment medium).  When you watch a movie it doesn't really require you to think too much about everything going on.  Video games such as the the Columbine game has the potential for people realize more about the entire situation.  I am pretty interested in giving the game a try and possibly learn more about the tragedy than I could from the "news".

And done. Good documentary but it was pretty much preaching to the choir with me. I already had my side picked and it just gave me more fuel for the inevitable "Video Games Cause Violence" debates of the future. One thing I didn't expect: Full frontal nudity! Thanks for the recommendation. I"m always game for a good documentary. I just don't know if there's much to discuss since I believe everybody will pretty much take the side of the filmaker.

It has prompted me to seek information on the Columbine/VA Tech school shootings (as well as a few others). It's easy to forget these tragedies when the media moves on to its next big story.

My favorite quote (that I'm likely to f**k up): "You have movies, television, books, and video games. You're telling me that video games are the media that needs to be censored because you don't trust the authors?"

Glad you liked it and I perhaps should have known that it would be mainly speaking to the choir with most people on this site.  It does give the average gamer some "ammo" to counter anyone trying to say video games cause violence.   From what I gather the video game industry has a chance to educate, make people feel, etc.. more for real life tragic events than simply watching a news clip.

It is amazing that video games become the scapegoat when you have violence in every other entertainment medium.  I suppose they like to pick on the "new" kid and point fingers at him.  It is easier to find scapegoats than to address the real issues behind what causes events like Columbine.  When Columbine happened they pointed fingers at music, video games, etc...  Not at the parents, at the kids that picked on them, or at anything that really caused the events.

Just as with the recent tragedy in Norway.  They immediately focused on that he liked to play CoD..  As if CoD somehow made him more likely to carry out the act.
