IMO its just another Mario game, not to offend any die hard fans. I don't think its changed anything. The first one, mind you, changed games, but not the 17th one. Halo changed FPS games, Final Fantasy probably had some impact on RPG's, but SMG hasn't changed anythin

That is absolutely incorrect.  HALO didn't do shit for the traditional FPS community, only the console one.  PC FPS gamers pretty much just laugh at console FPS gamers because they consider them a joke :)

If Halo was so revolutionary, more PC players would be playing it :)

Super Mario Galaxy is doing well because it offers loveable characters and great gameplay like it always has, and always will.  I expect it to sell 10 million copies in its life time.

Its not what people say that is offensive, it is how we react to it that determines offense or not- REBT theory of Albert Ellis.

Competing in online FPS since 1999.

Around the Network

SMG is just amazing. I know 5 people in my office who scored Wii's this xmas. Either as a gift or as a gift for their kids. Which turned out to be really for the family as all of them have played it extensively, and not just sports.

Every person I know in my office that has a Wii, atleast 20, all have Galaxy. All are adults that most of which havn't played games much or at all in years. All love Wii Sports and all love Galaxy.

Galaxy will eventually be in the top 10 sold. Funny, 4 of the 5 people also got Guitar Hero 3. Purely casual or non-gamer type of people.

The Wii is selling because of the Wii concept itself, because of games like Wiisport (casual) and because of Nintendo games (Nintendo fans)

SMG is just another Nintendo (not the worst lol) game that brings a bit more Nintendo's fan

The recent strong sales of the Wii are simply du to :

Xmas effetct and Wiifit in Japan.
