I'm with you for the most part. Season 2 was by far the best. 3 had a great villian with Russell but the last 2 episodes were just really bland and the finale left me really dissapointed. Marianne >>> Russell Edgington. She was much more original as a character (and being able to make poeple have sexual orgies is AWSOME!!!). Too bad they ruined her character at the end. So anticlimatic (like all of True Blood's finales actually). What bothers me about season 4 is the lack of an actual villain (so far at least)

I absolutely love the series. Seasons 1-3 were ace, but so far the 4th one has been a big disappointment :(
I also like Vampire Diaries (though it's not nearly as good) and I absolutely hate Twilight; It's just really badly written and cliche.
