Which part of it is inaccurate, and why? Nintendo's been counted as going third party for years. It just hasn't been a particularly realistic expectation, at least not in the immediate future. Every news article I read is about how Nintendo's winning. Every statement I read anywhere online for that matter is about Nintendo winning. Relatively speaking, how often do people actually mention the controller? Is it a contributing factor? Perhaps, but for the most part, people are just rooting for the underdog and hoping Sony falls flat on its face because it's so arrogant. Nintendo's games sell Nintendo's systems. As always. Figures released about 6 months ago suggested Xbox 360 cost Microsoft $320, and Microsoft included some things Nintendo would never even touch, like a hard drive, which right there is more than half the difference to $250. Nintendo could have gotten it down to $250, or close enough to it.

Shane - I never cared about Ninty, I never owned or even played on one of their consoles, heck I haven't had a console since the Atari 2600. It's the WiiMote and WiiSports that got me to buy it. EVERYONE I know got it due to the WiiMote and the promise of interesting new games. The idea of playing with my family and friends face to face ( well faces toward the TV :) ) instead of being infont of my PC. LOZ:TP was a really just a bonus - A really great bonus :) Even now I'm looking at paper mario thinking - Am I really thinking of getting a platformer after all these years of being a Hardcore PC FPS nut. I think it's safe to say : The Wiimote got people to buy the Wii Ninty's great games keep them playing and buying 3rd Parties - Fill in the massive gaps - I just hope for great games :)

My prediction: PS3 will be the N64 of this generation. Its the uber powerful system, and it will turn a good profit for Sony, but, like the N64, it will not be the "winner" of this generation as far as marketshare is concerned. I do not see it matching the popularity of the PS2. The competitors may have weaker machines, but they are cheaper to develop for.

Well, ps3 will rock in second part of 2007.

PS3's Dominance begins in February with Virtua Fighter 5 ... Well maybe not ...

HappySqurriel - PS3s dominace will keep getting delayed... as long as the games keep getting delayed. Simple as that.

March/April were the big months from the release dates in January. Then May/June up untill about 3 weeks ago. Now a new batch of delays. Now it's Q3. Delays... mean delays in dominance. 

I hate to say it, but I think that really violent games will probably take a hit this year. I'm not saying it's right, but all this gun violence is going to take it's toll. Even though Halo might be just as violent as Killzone, the name Killzone alone is enough to scare away parents. Might as well name the game Psychopath Shooter Trainer. Again, I'm not saying it's right, but that is the reality of the situation.

 Ok I just wanna say this really quick.

Coliumbine didnt effect game sales much. I dont think this will either. In another 3 months, it will be old news. (there is no-one to follow, no court cases, no reason to keep the news on the news... the shooter is dead, serves him right...blah blah blah. You can only talk about a dead guy for so long before people get tired of it. If they arrested him, it would be MONTHS before we would stop hearing about it. I say in 3-6 weeks we wont see much on it.
