Here in Italy normally just the priest drinks wine at Communion, even during First Communions, but in some churches wine is given to everybody taking Communion. Wine for Communion is very light, anyway, and only a very little sip is given, at 5% alcohol content it should be ~250mg of alcohol for a ~5ml sip, not enough to give even a 0.01% BAC, the minimum to give effects to the most sensitive people. It must also be said that here, before serious problems of alcoholism started becoming widespread even amongst teenagers, a little sip of sweet, light wine was rarely allowed also to minors, for example for Xmas or New Year's Eve and not considered harmful.
