Mark Rein has said Epic is “dying” to be a part of the next batch of Kinect games.

“People love Kinect,” the Epic Games leader told OXM.

“I’m really happy to see this second generation of Kinect games show up, see that they’re still going strong and that people have lots of cool and amazing ideas for them.

“So yeah, we’re dying to be a part of that.”

As Rein pointed out, Epic’s Unreal Engine has already been utilised to make Kinect titles, including the very first one, Kinect Adventures.

“Unreal is just a great technology for doing that sort of stuff,” Rein said. “Kinect Fun Labs is a great example.

“Everybody goes: ‘Woah, you can make a shooter with Unreal’. Clearly you can make something that’s not a shooter with Unreal, there’s the best example there. And you can hook it up with all kinds of cool technology of your own and do something impressive.”

Epic Games calls the Wii a gimmick, and the "virus" of the gaming industry, but their all over Kinect. WTF?

It is Mark Reign ... He is probably the most rabidly anti-Nintendo developer in the world.

At one conference he wanted to demonstrate how core gamers didn't buy Nintendo consoles so he asked everyone who owned a Gamecube to raise their hand; being that the vast majority of people in the audience raised their hand he was somewhat annoyed by this but, being that he didn't want to accept that core gamers actually did like Nintendo, he asked everyone who owned a PS2, XBox or a gaming PC to put their hands down. With only a few people with their hands up he then argued that it didn't make sense to develop games for Nintendo's platform.

Being that most core gamers own multiple platforms, you could have repeated a similar process for any console to justify not producing games for it but Mark Reign would never admit that because he is a douche.

Well a lot of people like Kinect and Epic makes good games. So hopefully they can push the tech and make a good game for it and please those that have bought it.
