After enjoying my 360 for a year now, I am almost ready to make the jump to the PS3.  But, I was wondering if the "price drop" rumors are true. And if so, when is this going to happen.  I have search around and found only hints of this happening.  Any news would be welcome.

I'm 80% sure we will see a price drop for PS3 this calendar year and 99.8% sure there will be one this Sony fiscal year (ending march 31st 2012).

Wait for Gamescomm in mid to late August! That's the most likely time they will announce a price cut.

I am 100% sure there will be price cuts before the holidays this year.

Maybe start dropping on November cause of the Holidays.

I think the Tokyo game show would be more likely to hear a price cut for PS3 since thats basically Sony's personal E3.

Unofficial drops and bundles are already happening for home consoles and portables. Gamespot Italy is currently offering PS3 plus a game at buyer's choice and a second controller for 289€ and Wii plus WS, WSR and another game at buyer's choice for 149€, for example.
