Mass Effect 3 didn't make 3 million it died due to having bad legs I don't think that many people are interested in Mass Effect 3. Despite having good hype and critical acclaim Mass Effect 2 couldn't sell that well.

I can't believe the preorder chart could be this inaccurate. Modern Warfare 3 hardly getting preorders on the PS3 version seems to fake. I would think the PS3 version of MW3 could easily outsell Skyrim(360) and Battlefield 3(360) each by a ratio of 2:1. While Uncharted 3 will be able to outsell every game this holidays except Battlefield 3 (360) and Modern Warfare 3( both versions)

These are pre-orders for America not WW (heck its even in the name!)...if you look at these charts with that in mind the pre-orders make MUCH more sense.

dsage01, I think your post makes no sense;

Resistance is not a big franchise and Rage is produced by Id software not those nobody companies. Id software always has large number cult followings.

Elder scrolls is larger franchise than Uncharted and it was not in the market for nearly 6 years besides Xbox360 is the leading platform for SKyrim. Of course it will beat Uncharted 3 in terms of preorders and it will outsell Uncharted 3 easily in this Fall (Xbox360 version);

According Gamestop recent statements it said that Battlefield 3 beats Modern warefare 3 in preorders so it's reasonable to see Battlefield 3 Xbox360 version tops Modern warfare 3 PS3 version

Anyway I'll explain things very quickly.

VGChartz staff themselves have stated quite often that rpgs have much higher preorder to buy ratios than most other genres. That is why Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 have such high preorders. Their first week sales in Americas won't be much higher than the preorders.

Assassins Creed is much bigger than Uncharted in Americas. Remember these are going to be initial sales, not lifetime where uncharted will be able to start catching up due to not having sequels every year. Assassins Creed 2 on the 360 outsold uncharted 2 in americas even though a sequel came out one year later and multiconsole owners could have got the game for the ps3 as well. Yes AC is much bigger than Uncharted 2 in terms of sales.

MW3 for the ps3 is tracking ahead of black ops for the xbox 360 was with 19 weeks left. Its tracking seems perfectly fine if not overtracked. Than again it has seemed like people are more likely to preorder nowadays. The only game I do agree is odd is Battlefield 3 being so high for the 360. Then again maybe all their Call of Duty bashing is getting people's attention.

Okay well I get it for Sykrim and Mass Effect 2. I don't expect big sales for either of them anyways. Battlefield 3... no I think that's over tracked. But as for AC no in Americas thier both around the same. Infact the PS3 version keeps increasing and the 360 version keeps decreasing. AC brotherhood for 360 is at 2.23 million and Uncharted 2 is at 2.42 million. And AC 2 is belwo 3 million in Americas so...

No I think Assassins creed is still the bigger franchise all those sales are mostly on it's own no bundleling. You have to realize Uncharted 2 was one of the most bundled games on the PS3  they where practically given it away for free so that doesn't really count. I honestly can't remember a time when it wasn't bundled. So I do agree with enrage AC is definitely the bigger franchise when you take that into account that UC2 was heavily heavily bundled and ACB I'm  pretty sure it wasn't bundled at all.

Okay we will just have to wait and watch to see Uncharted 3 outselling Asassins Creed Rev.
