damn it seems like there are too many people leaving this thread. Oh I really do hope I can get 1000 posts!
Gears. Both are very good in their genre, I dislike the lead characters in both, but if forced to pick I'd rather than have some macho SF vs bonkers Greek Gods so Gears it is. Just.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Gears of war was pretty impressive as the first HD title I played on my 52" tv. I didn't like the multiplayer however and the single player in god of war 3 is miles better then gears of war. Gears of war is in my top 10 of worst endings to a video game ever.
God of war 3 it is.
Seems this is heading to uncharted 2 vs Halo something in the end.
Kratos would definitely win in a fight against Marcus, so my vote goes to God of War. Hell, he'd win a battle against every single COG every imagined.
And know I don't mean winning by being ressurected over and over. I mean in a battle between the COG and Kratos, Kratos would win that battle. He wouldn't even die.

That will be a tough one. I also don't know what to choose yet between valkyria chronicles and mass effect.

Uncharted 2 moves on. *Mass Effect 2 gets in round 2 because there were not many 360 games. *Killzone 3 is out becuase it came in last place in eliminations round. *There is one extra PS3 game 6-4 so which one deserves to got to round 3? *Halo Reach will get an extra life as thier are less 360 games. *Uncharted 2 gets promoted to Round 3!

I voted Gears of War.
Gears of War was the first HD game which justified the purchase of an HD console. It has one of the most interesting stories I have ever seen in a shooter title, and even though online was an after though, it was quite addictive (and challenging). Gears of war is one of my favorite franchises, and a lot of the ideas which became famous in Gears have seen a lot of copying from other franchises (Cover system - UIncharted, Horde Mode - Halo, Left 4 Dead, etc). However the online structure of Gears copies Halo a lot.
IMO God of War 3 is over rated. It's nowhere nearly as fluid as the PS2/PSP iterations are, and I just can't stand playing it. I haven't yet seen a AAA action game this gen except for Bayonetta, but it's still no reason to go pick up this game for me.
