L4D for me, I can't comment on Killzone other than what I've seen, and it doesn't seem to have any soul.

You should try play it. It's really amazing like you've never seen before. But next time don't try judge a book by it's cover.

Well I already said my opinion on K3 wasn't worth much, just by looks. But no thanks, those games look dire to me, war shooters and such. I like Halo, L4D and Bioshock ect because of the setting.

^Okay wel your opinion is your opionon I can't change it. But I have to agree Bioshock, Halo and L4D are great games. But the only one that can compare to Killzone to me is Halo. Although Bioshock is a great game and so is L4D

Mass Effect is the game of the gen for me so I voted for it. I think I've spilled my guts out all over the forums on why I think so, so I'm not gonna play that record again.

Mass Effect 1 is game of the gen for you? Not 2?

ME2 is game of the century for me so far. However Chrono Trigger still edges it out IMO, but that's last century.

Yes it is the current game of the gen to me. It took a strong narrative, greatly detailed characters, pretty awesome graphics/audio technology, a pretty deep loot and item system, amazing character customization, an incredibly fleshed out sci-fi universe, lots of exploration, and fun third person shooting mechanics and threw it together in a package that actually worked. Not to mention some pretty refined ways to interact with the game a la game-changing events and the conversation wheel (I know that has been around for a while but I felt ME finally nailed it).

Mass Effect 2 really dropped the ball on a lot of those aspects (mainly having a strong cast, a good narrative, character customization, and the loot system) while making ground on a few aspects that I felt didn't needed a huge enhancement (the third person gameplay could've used some tweaks but the complete overhaul into an action game really ruined the experience for me). Had this been Uncharted 2 vs ME 2 I'd have easily given my vote to U2.

Did you really think that the change from RPG to TPS ruined ME2? I liked it, but everyone has their own opinion.

Personally, I thought the plot and narritive in Mass Effect 1 were better then in Mass Effect 2. ME2 is essentially all about making a crew and finding out about the collectors, and that end game moment was a little dull if you ask me. However the pacing, and the gameplay I felt were perfect for me. In ME1 there would be hour long stretches with no action, just walking and talking, and then hour long sections of pure action. The pacing was just way off, and I really don't like how traveling to Varren would immediatly cut you off drom finishing any missions at the citadel. They could have at least warned you. Also ME1 DLC is just plain shooting, it doesn't add to the story at all.

What made ME2 so great to me was how well the game was put together. There were never any glitches, difficulty doesn't spike for certain bosses, and overall ME2 was just the most polished game I have ever played. Story isn't as epic as ME1, but with the DLC, it's still levels above most RPG's.

If ME3 can combine the strengths of ME1 and ME2, then I can't forsee a game ever being better.

I voted Left 4 Dead 2, but it barely won. Both games are great, but they both have strong weaknesses which make me want to never play these games again after I beat them and spend 10 hours online.

Left 4 Dead 2 didn't improve Left 4 Dead that much. It's really short, and when you play with random people, the experience can be fun as hell, or a waste of time. Multiplayer is unbalanced, one team is often far better then the other, and to be honest the game just lacks content.

As for Killzone 3, the campaign is fun as hell, but there are serious flaws to the game design. First of all, I can't continue a co-op campaign in single player or vice versa, this is a huge b***h for me, so much I wouldn't even consider this a co-op game. It's the most annoying thing not being able to finish a game because of this and having to start all over. On top of this, multiplayer is even more unbalanced, however this time it's because of the maps. Every map has a spot where you can just go on kill streaks without contest, and too many people camp.

So really L4D2 wins because there are less flaws. Killzone 3 overall is a better game. The campaign is the best in the series, and it's one of the best looking FPS's I've ever seen. Environments are believable and beautiful, voice acting is great, and you actually care for the story. Take away annoying Rico, and make the game more co-op friendly, and it would rank among the better FPS's this gen. As for L4D2, fun as hell game, especially when you have 4 people you know to play with, but when you're on your own, after your friends have moved on, it's a drag.

Huh? No offense but either you kinda....are not that great in mp or .....nvm man. I have played through every map every class so far except for the latest 2 from the recent DLC and no class feels unbalanced and any minor advantage has been situational. For example in any corridor/indoor area in Frozen Dam, I can pick off a infiltrator rushing casually at me. If you have trouble going from ISA to Helghast side in FD because of snipers then you are not that good at all. In boulevard the same thing as well as concourse. Try becomming more diverse with your class strategies. Cloak off a blind side and communicate with a tactician to pick people off (if you're an infiltrator). As a marksman cloak with an silenced smg on top of doors and around corners. It's easy to pick cloaked marksmen with medics with bots. Also don't forget that advanced marksmen have radar jamming so that is a dead giveaway that they are near (assuming you are smart enough to pay attention to your radar. As a tactician mainly rely on wits as far as spotting people (paying attention to when cross hair is red) and learn to use your counterstrike reflexes (as in everytime you get in a room check your blindspot corners fast). As an engineer set turrets up in blindspots in rooms and learn to set up C4's in opposing sides of turrets where potential victims will most likely try to strafe to crush turrets. As a tactician your air support should always be set up at your tac-spawns closer to corridor type areas so snipers do not pick them off out in the open (especially in salumon market). Any camp spot you chose should always be backed up with mines at about 10 ft away from you at your blind side, while grenades are for full on assaults (unless you're an infiltrator where you drop them behind u when you rush in to melee and get out and they follow you). I can write up a whole set of strats you should follow, and although I left my clan since I recently took a KZ break for college and internship, I'd be happy to play with you. As for co-op you can continue where you left off.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
