Well it's obvious that PS4 is likely already in development and 1st parties are probably already playing with it and giving feedback.

IMO it's whether they know they can get the price of hardware down by the time it's released. If they know they can get their hardware to the price they want then they'll unveil it. If not, they won't.

Not only Sony. Nintendo announced both the 3DS and WiiU before the E3 only to show them there.

The PS4 will be announced if Microsoft announces the next xbox. Launching 1 year later then the competition hurt them a lot, they won't make the same mistake again.

I know it's nice to dream but Sony has already said that there will be no Playstation for years to come. Besides they lost money on current hardware.

As much as I love to see the PS4 I don't think is going to happen in 2012, 2013 unveil sounds more problable and a release date in 2014.

Probably because the Wii didn't have the horse power to compete with the 360 / PS3 graphically. Shallow as it may seem, graphic matter to a lot of core gamers, speaking from someone who consider himself a shallow 'core' gamer of course.
