Too bad they're all variations of the same game.

was that really necessary?  i mean if you dn't like the thread or the sweet deal then just don't post.  Those games are awesome in each and every one of their own rights. So what if some of em are mods?, they're damn fun to play.

Are these forums really necessary?  Is the Internet really necessary?  People feel the need to put their own 2 cents into everything. Get used to it. :)

@mr-money: Too bad every FPS game is just a variation of Wolf3D.

too bad your face is just a variation of my....uh..uhm...face!!!!

Ok, silliness aside:

I have to say that the consumer in me says "Oh great valve is just whoring away their games once again to bleed every last cent out of them."

But the gamer in me says "Valve just loves the gamers so much that want everyone to experience the joy that is the source engine."

I know my first instinct is true, but it really doesn't make it any less of a great deal even looking at it from the consumer view.

To Each Man, Responsibility

It's a great deal if you want to go through what other PC gamers have gone through.

Half Life is a great game, and playing its expansions and sequels is a fun, and diverse enough adventure.

You may see a lot of Source games, but that does not mean they're the same. If you're an FPS player, the difference between, CS, DoD, TF, and HL are major. They are unique, original games, and even just the Orange Box, CS, DoD, and the original Half Life are worth the $75 to me.

Don't hate, play the games and see what you've been missing all these years.

If anything, I'm just trying to show you guys Steam, because it's the best way to buy PC games, in my opinion, and the more people playing games together, the better.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Can most PCs run those games?

Peggle is gonna make your PC weep!

One question though, is it limited to the US or can we buy it internationally (I live in the UK).

I don't like to buy too much from download services* as you don't really know what will happen if the company goes under but for the price and given Valve's talent the investment would be well repaid before they can mess up enough to go under so its worth it (plus if they do go under and I can't play them anymore due to DRM issues I probably could find an illegitimate version which while it might be legally wrong would be morally right** as you buy a license to the game).

* whether Steam/VC/XBLA/PSN or others.

**unless you don't buy it legitimately in the first place that is.
