It's the economy. I really don't know. I remember when I first joined in 2010 vgchartz was pretty awesome. I felt at home and my first threads about me-my life-challenges- were all received with great and helpful comments. Few months later *CRASH AND BURN*

You think its *CRASH AND BURN* now you should have seen this place in 08 and early 09.  It was thriving with awesome sauce.

Still a great website though I hope more users keep joining and we can grow this community more.

Meh...the internet is full of enough idiots as it is. It's not exclusive to this website.

My issue on forum-goers in general has always been those particular self-righteous pricks who stink of the "holier-than-thou" attitude, and just never give up on an argument. In particular when it comes to world issues. There's just no reasoning to be had, they can't admit they're wrong. No sir, it's about who can spin the most information.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

That's actually why I tread very lightly in the off-topic forums. People get way too wound up in there.

EDIT: Heh, I didn't realize this was in the off-topic forums. I guess that's what I get for only using hot topics.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Off topic is probably the place that has changed least. Still the heated (and actually usually fairly intelligent) political/religious debates. Still the fairly innappropriate but awesome threads. The off topic community on this site is still quite a bit of fun.

The console forums have gone downhill though, I very rarely go into any thread that involves a comparison between the 360 and the PS3 now as it's often just fanboy bickering without any actual arguments to back it up.

Those "new" places are not doing as well as they used to be...

_____

I voted "yes". While I don't really know any of the newer members, we have lost a lot of really good users over the years that can't really be replaced. I think we will always be on a downward trend as far as intelligent users go based on how big the site actually becomes. The more popular the site gets the more random users we will have. Hopefully it never gets as bad as YouTube or other similar sites though. I remember the good old days of VGC, and those days are greatly missed. Good times!

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Religion threads never end well. People just will never agree on some things, and spin certain verses out of context to suit their end of an argument. It's as if they're desperately trying to look for a reason to hate on a religion.

As for politics, when it comes to Middle Eastern affairs, people are just clueless. But you can't blame them when they're living in opposite ends of the spectrum.

Religion threads never go anywhere, but that doesn't stop them being interesting.

My problem with the forums now is that people take me too seriously. And they don't ever bother to upgrade their sarcasm detector and instead go for fire power that often exploded into a lot of face palms.
