Forums - Nintendo - Wii will always have Wii Sports As Pack-In: Opinion

Welcome to the site BottleSpringWater, very unique username but I like it :)
Yepp, Wii Sports will stay bundled and when/if Wii Sports 2 gets released it won't replace the original. Maybe instead of a price drop they can't bundle Wii + Wii Sports 1 & 2.

Predictions for December 31st 2008:
Wii 38,000,000
DS 84,500,000
PS3 17,000,000
PSP 41,000,000
X360 23,000,000

a) no way they do a price drop; wii will remain sold out for at least the next 2 years....the demand is over 50mil at this point and growing imo

b) no way they bundle in 80 game/board + 60 controllers and sell for the same price...people are buying 6/7/800 bundles with crap games from walmart/tru/etc...again, when they are still selling out, they are not going to drop prices or add more to the bundle

i will take ur bet and give u 20:1 odds...so if the bet is 1 month ban, then it's 1 month ban for you if that bundle doesn't show up next year or it's 20 months for me if it does show up

Bets:Missed by 420k I bet leo-j vg$500 that wii will sell 31 million by 7/31/08.  Sorry, I don't think he has enough vg$ to make it with all of u that wish you could. Hit, with room to spare I bet kingofwale a 1-week ban that wii Americas ltd sales>360 Americas ltd sales as of the numbers for week ending 7/05/08 (using vgchartz homepage #s)

Predictions:

Wii will sell 18-20mil by 12/31/07  CHECKWii will sell 45mil+ WW by 12/31/08Wii will surpass PS2 sales WW by 11/17/11 (5yr anniversary)Wii Fit will hit 12mil sales in 2009MKWii+SSBB+Wii Fit+SMG > 50 mil sales by 2010 > gta4+mgs+gt5+ff13+haze+lbp

I do think a Wii Fit bundle is possible, and without dropping the collective price. If WiiFit gets taken seriously (or even semi-serious) as a fun fitness alternative then dropping $400 for Wii + WiiFit is nothing at all, when compared to getting a trendmill, homegym, bike, or a lot of the other stuff people buy, use for a month and let collect dust.
A WiiFit bundle aimed at that market would not be competing with 360/PS3 as those consumers would have nothing to gain from and no interest in 360/PS3.

I think as time goes on, maybe a new game similar to Wiisports can be the pack-in title or maybe even something with Wiisports. I mean, Wiisports was cool and all but it did have some problems (ie - trying to golf with the Wiimote.... ugh) and maybe something that can use more of the Wiimote's features would be something they can do for future 'on the fence' people as well as new customers.

Maybe they could release Wii with extra controllers, X-Men Ultimate Alliance, then add HD-DVD support and call it the Wii Ultimate package

Why not let the Wii play DVD movies first?

NO. Because then it won't be the Wii ULTIMATE PACKAGE. How would they be able to compete with Xbox if they didn't package in Marval Ultimate Alliance and HD-DVD? ITS THE ULTIMATE PACKAGE! RAWR11!!1!!ONEONE

....eleventy one.....
