Sony is currently developing the same number of PlayStation Vita titles as they are for PlayStation 3, SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida revealed.  

Speaking with CVG before E3, Yoshida said that a major fault with the PSP line of games was Sony’s lack of support after launch.

“We are doing about the same number of titles [on Vita as on PS3] so that means a lot,” said Yoshida. “One of the things we didn’t do to well to support PSP was that right after PSP came out we moved on to working on the PS3 launch titles.

“So we shifted too much resource out of PSP so after a couple of years the PSP support when quickly down.

“We tried to back it up a couple of years ago but there was a time where we were not offering enough PSP content. So going forward we do not want to make the same mistake so we always look at the balance that we are doing in support of both PS3 and NGP.”

PlayStation Vita launches this holiday. A wi-fi model will be available for $249, while a 3G/wi-fi model will be available for $299. AT&T is the 3G provider.

Its starting to get overwhelming the support that this device is going to have.   But I am enjoying it and make that $249 price tag look cheaper and cheaper all the time.

How about if you have the 3G model and AT&T tracks your location which is then used by the USA government to put Vita users in internment camps, or how about AT&T overcharging for their shitty 3G?

they need to create new IPs for and laucnh it in Japan with monster hunter. Their lucky that the 3DS hasnt really taken off yet, they still have a chance this generation

Yep, I'm VERY happy! I love my psp and psv will keep it going..even better this time around

I was just bullshitting for the most part except AT&T overcharging for their services.  Anyways, it looks like there will be even better competition in the handheld market than last generation.   Sure Sony sold a decent amount of PSP but they didn't really come close to DS user base.  Least there is more competition in the handheld market these days.  Other than PSP, Nintendo hasn't really been challenged since Game Gear days. 

The only negative I can think of the Vita is battery life possibly being worse than 3DS (which isn't as big of issue as battery life for Game Boy/Game Gear since you had to use AA batteries).
