Oh, I hate the retail exclusive pre-order bonuses, too. Especially when there's exclusive content for a retailer that I don't live near (ie: Best Buy is 60 miles from my house) or there's a different piece of content for every store (ie: Enslaved had like five different pre-order bundles and NONE of them ever became available to purchase on the XBL Marketplace.).
I can tolerate it when the DLC eventually goes on sale for a couple of dollars or something but to deprive fans of a game--even people like me who tend to buy games on day 1 but just don't pre-order--of content is some bullshit. My $60 on launch day isn't as good as somebody else's $5 a week before launch and $55 the day of launch?
For the record, the only games I've ever pre-ordered are Zelda Wind Waker (for the Zelda Bonus disc--wish I'd pre-ordered it like seven times, in retrospect), Metal Gear Solid 4 (and didn't even go back to pick up my copy--I just bought it with the console. $5 wasted!! At least I got that free DVD that gave away the entire plot of the game...), and Batman Arkham Asylum.
