Forums - Gaming - Huge Noob Question: How does game trading/selling work?

Sometimes, depending on what you're buying, they may even give you a percentage of extra store credit (10% to 50% more) usually for a new game. They also have promotions where you can buy two and get one free (used games, though ). AND, if you buy a used game and you don’t like it for some reason, you can return it for another game within 30 days. It used to be two weeks but the guy told me 30 days, last time I was in there.

Here's a list of how much money they give you for a certain game:

http://www.tivs.ca/trade-in-values/

(Click on Nintendo Wii)

Now this is for Canada but it should give you an idea of how much they are worth.

EB Games is the same as Gamestop.

For example, EB Games will give you
15$ for Monster Hunter Tri,
4.25$ for PoP,
7$ for Big Brain,
13$ for Super Paper Mario,
5.25$ for DK Jungle Beat,
2$ for Monkey Ball and
5$ for Pikmin.

Total: 50.50$

This is for Canada but the US shouldn't be much different.

Yeah there's a promotion right now (50% trade bonus on every game) but it ends tomorrow.

Where can you see promotions? I'll be one U.S.A the 18th.

Also, it seems I'll have to rely on luck, becuase a random site gave me totally different values than you, so I guess it depends on something.

I wonder why VGchartz does not have a thread allowing gamers to trade, sell or buy games from other members. I saw this on NeoGaf and it seems like a good idea.

+1

go on some forums and trade them in there, cuz this is the right way and you wont get screwed

Also, do they still take/ is it worth it to trade Gamecube games? Because I remember last time some Gamecube games (like Pikmin 2) were horribly expensive.

The site I gave you is for Canada and is being updated daily or so.

Well despite what people in here are telling you know we don't take advantage of customers. We give solid prices as best we can.

In fact we currently are giving a 50% bonus on all trade ins. Basically all you do is bring in your games, we scan them and auto assign a price to them depending on what corporate in Texas gives for each individual game. The basic things that affect value are....

1. How knew the game has been released.
2. How many we have already in stock pre-owned company wide.
3. Condition of the game.
4. How high demand is for the game pre-owned.

With the trade bonus we currently have those 7 games would easily allow you to get 2 brand new games probably or 3 or so pre-owned games.

I won't make it to the current bonus, maybe to the 7 games 30% bonus. What could I get with that?

BTW, since you are here, a silly question:

Why is Pikmin 2 so expensive used?
