Forums - Gaming - How do the million sellers stack up at the end of this year?

The 360's list starts looking thinner once you eliminate sports and racing games.

Thats like saying the list looks thinner for the Wii when you take out Mario games, just because they are of a specific genre doesnt mean anything.

Interesting to break that down by genre.

360:
FPS - 6
Combat Sim - 6
Sports - 4
Action - 3
Racing - 3
RPG - 3
Music - 2
Fighting - 1

Wii:
Minigame/Party Games - 5
Sports - 2
FPS - 2
Adventure - 1
Platform - 1
RPG - 1
"Non-Games" - 1
Action - 1
Music - 1

PS3:
Combat Sim - 2
Racing - 1
Action - 1

For genre representation, the Wii's got the biggest spread of million sellers, having only one heavily favored genre (minigame/party titles). On that same note, the 360 has an excellent support base for FPS, combat sims, and sports games. The PS3... well, it's been having trouble so far, so its million seller list isn't representative. Yet, anyway.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

PES/WE 08 for the PS3 only needs 20k sales this week to pass the one million mark.

Brilliant numbers for the 360, and Wii's list starts looking thinner once you eliminate WiiSports and WiiPlay (which I and many others do, fairly or not). Suprised too about Big Brain Academy - I didn't realize it had sold that well.

The PS3... not so suprising. Most of it's exclusive titles have not gotten brilliant reviews, and it still has the smallest overall user base. I think a good guage next year will be to see if the PS3's 2008 list compares favorable to this year's Wii list.

I just love when people grasp at straws to try and diminish the accomplishments of others.

It's not the end of the year yet, and PS3 will have 5 by the end of the year. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/Winning Eleven 2008 is at 980,000 units.

But yea it seems they all wanted to end in direct proportions of each other. Interesting.

yes. There are two weeks left and the ps3 will get another.

Anybody do a psp/ds comparsion?

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

So...

X360 after 2 years has 29.

Wii has 15 in 1 year.

And PS3 has 4 in 1 year.

Hmmmm, Wii = X360 in millionsellers per year. PS3 lacking Software...

Is PS3 doing a PSP?

Two weeks?  The 29th is the last day of this week and with only the 30th and 31st left in the month it seems like that week would be attributed to '08.

So are Motor Storm and Resistance here in Europe, as is Halo 3 in Europe, and Forza and Viva Pinãta.
