Forums - Microsoft - Kinect and not having enough space?

If you are one of those people who barely have enough space to play with Kinect you should keep an eye on this.

Decrease the space needed to play your favorite Kinect games with Nyko’s Zoom for Kinect. The Zoom reduces the play range required to enjoy Kinect software by up to 40%, allowing you to play closer to your TV. Zoom’s wide angle lens also enables two people to play in an area normally only suitable for a single player making it ideal for those in smaller apartments or dorm rooms. Specially designed optical lenses fit over the Kinect sensor and clip into place making set up a breeze with nothing to plug in. No additional software or calibration is required. The design of the Zoom blends seamlessly with the look and feel of the Kinect. The Zoom opens up a whole new world of Kinect play to those who previously lacked the space required to fully enjoy it.

I really want to believe this because it sounds incredible in so many ways, it's just that I've never seen a Nyko that works well. At best they kind of work a few weeks before flat out breaking.

Twesterm speaks the truth. Thing is, I keep buying Nyko products and they keep letting me down. When will I learn? Certainly not today. I'm buying that bad boy!

(sorry can't quote, I'm on the iPad)

I don't know what could break, just experience tells me that Nyko products are terrible.

Well, the lens could fall out, the device could be too heavy and break the Kinect's internal motor, it could act as a magnifying glass that amplfies the Kinect's infrared lighting to the point where it becomes a cancer causing death ray.  Honestly, I don't think Nyko is going to let you down when it comes to finding a way to "F" some "S" up.

That is a sad thing to hear, I really could use it considering I am just a bit to tall for Dance central.

Surprised people have an issue with this, I live in an apartment and I have Kinect in my bedroom .... lol

That is because I hate having open spaces in my home, I have 8 ft and for dance central I am just a little to tall.

The problem with kinect is that it says that the minimum you need is 6ft but for a good experience that is totally not true many only have 6 ft space and find out that they barely can manage to get 'Good space' in Kinect adventures and I can barely manage 'Best space'.

Don't forget it would probably distort all the pictures/movies Kinect makes.
