Vita is just amazing for the smaller selling titles. It's such a shame Sony couldn't hold onto monster hunter a little longer. even it they only got MH4 that would have been enough to shift millions to the vita. It's healthy but it could have been booming in Japan.
It's an example where the competition jumping into next gen first really gave them a big advantage. Sony should have released the vita a year earlier.

Ad If they want to keep arround on portable buissness they need to announce a Sucesor for next year, and release as soon as 3DS sucesor omes arround on late 2016 or the more robable early 2017.

I think that would be the final nail in the coffin. Dedicated gaming handhelds have no future especially not for Sony because they're less casual than Nintendos.
They are building a sizable Japanese install base slowly but surely. By the end of next year it will be over 5.5m. Now they can drop that and launch a new handheld that will bomb badly and cost them a lot of money or they can keep selling about a million a year with the vita.
You'll say but the 3DS sucesor will release and be more powerful. but you forget in Japan that makes no difference. The vita is a lot more powerful then the 3DS so the jump to the 4DS won't put it a mile past the vita. Nintendo might even just match it in power because they know a low price is way more important than power.
So yeah the one positive with the vita being so powerful is it can pretty much go another gen. End of next year it will be 5m Vita's vs the 4DS starting on zero. Now that lead won't last long but they'll be in a much better position then if they went back to zero.
Sony have 2 big options that can really revitalise the vita instead of its current ~1m a year. They should at least do option 1.
#1 make a Vita 3.0. Basically just a hardware revision that lowers the price to a really appealing level. This will give it a big advantage over a new console launching.
#2 get monster hunter back on the system. This alone would boom sales but combined with #1 the vita would explode.
#3 get the big games multiplatform. So that's monster hunter / yokai watch / dragon quest mainline etc on the Vita. They'd have to fund it but combined with option #1 and their domination of smaller titles they'd do well.
Lastly we have dragon quest heroes 2 and Dragon Quest builders releasing early next year. currently the big dragon quest fanbase is not on vita. Could these 2 titles cause a big influx of sales? along with attack on titan, World of Final Fantasy, minecraft and possibly kancolle kai there is hope yet.
Bottom line is Sony can do something but I fear they're happy just to ride it out and get as many ps4 games on vita as possible for the extra profit and it makes getting ps4 game deals easier.
