Can't blame them too much for something like this I guess.  I have a feeling Monpiece made them a fair bit of money also being of low production values but selling well beyond expectations in Japan.

I don't think Experience breaks the bank making their DRPGs, either, but they still look nice and present well. IF's trashy, lifeless art style (also found in Cross Edge and the Agarest games) just makes me want to barf. Whoever that artist is, s/he needs to be donkey punched.

While I don't agree that the art in Monpiece is bad, I very much prefer Tsunako's style. She does the art for Neptune, Date A Live, and Fairy Fencer.

You do work for Idea Factory, don't you?!

I was recently thinking either Bamco (because we're getting SAO digital and he said we're getting stuff we shouldn't expect i.e. Hearts) or Sony (we're getting Soul Sacrifice Delta digital and we're getting stuff we shouldn't expect i.e. Oreshika).

Idea Factory has always been one that I keep coming back to, though.

If you're buying the PSP YuGiOh game, let me know if it works on Vita.

Aside from that, Portable Ops shall be mine!  And some PS1 games.

Do you know if it would work on Vita?

It's the only MGS game that I haven't played, well that and Ground Zeroes.

Also, where's all this "Borderlands 2 is a bad port" stuff coming from? The IGN review?

My understanding of it is that it's a very good port (keeps graphics; maintains mostly respectable FPS; all content in tact) that made some necessary sacrifices to run on the hardware it needed to run on. That's not a bad port. It's the same as Criterion did with Need for Speed as Mike pointed out (a game which also struggled to maintain 30 FPS yet seemed to be a lot more generously reviewed).

I think Gio Corsi will be in charge of porting more games. And honestly, I think he chose well with Borderlands (although it was kinda chosen for him thanks to Randy Pitchford). A little ambitious, maybe, but certainly the right type of game and they chose a very competent studio to make the port.

I'm interested to see what else is in the pipeline in any case.

Probably more because Kotaku made a article about it (not a review) titled "Borderlands 2: Vita's theworse version of a good game".. I read a preview of DESTINY from them a little while ago wich could be resumed like this: "DESTINY is notgood because: Seems like Halo, but is not. Is a fun shooter but not as fun as COD. Seems like a open wolrd epic adventure, but not as borderlond,  BORDERLANDS ROCK!" based on a demo of a level of a mission from one of the coop modes. So didn't bother reading the Borderland  2 article of them. Knew about it because some nintendo die-hard fanboys from a Videogame group on facebook were I am in, published it laughing.

I watched some gameplay videos, and the game looks fun and well ported, but read some other articles about some game wrecking bugs.. so probably that's why all the thing about it being a bad port.

DoYou Want DOZENS OF NO GAEMZ?! then... Visit the Official PlayStation Vita Tread

If someone who worked for Idea Factory were right here right now, I'd tell him that a Spectral Force 4 would be mighty nice!

Seems like there was some big old info blowout today.

BigFest:

This looks really interesting. I hope this turns out to be decent. I love business sim games and the whole idea of it being real "talent" that you promote really appeals.

Good to know I'm not the only one interested on this title, I simply like sim games and this one have a nice twist to it (real bands). Looking forward to try it.

Is there a thread that lists upcoming Vita games?? I have lost tracked after April.

PSM 2.0 SDK Drops Support For PlayStation Certified Devices

Posted by Chris K on May 13th, 2014 | 1 Comment | Tags: PlayStation Mobile , Unity

The PlayStation Mobile 2.0 SDK will not support PlayStation Certified devices when it releases sometime this summer. This was announced on a PSM Dev Portal earlier last week. Developers will still have the option to support mobile devices by using the PSM 1.2 SDK.

While similar to the news recently that PSN leaderboard support was being dropped, it isn’t all bad. In the past developers could not specifically target the PlayStation Vita when making a game for PSM. For instance, the recently released Eufloria Adventures had to remove support for gamepad controls as it would force the on-screen controller to be overlaid when played on a PS Certified Device.

There is some fine print though if you are a developer. All games that were made on the 1.2 SDK will not be compatible with the 2.0 SDK. So they would have to be remade to work on this updated developer environment. It is also worth noting that if a developer wants to support the PS Vita TV, they will have to make their game with the 2.0 SDK or Unity for PSM architectures.

The PlayStation Mobile 2.0 SDK will release along with Unity for PSM later this summer.

Strange decision and... PS VitaTV incoming, no reason to support it without even releasing the hardware.
