How many vita games do you have in your library?

0-10 184 31.51%

11-20 109 18.66%

21-30 69 11.82%

30+ 215 36.82%

Total:577

I agree with Kresnik on this.

Not really for the JRPG reasoning, but for the philosophy in general.

I find irritating the genral formula: we'll do this if that sells. For how much "this" and "that" can be similar, they are still a different product. It's perfectly legitimate not to buy a game you are not convinced about, and then fall in love with the following (if it ever appears). They are different games, different marketing mix, bought (or not bought) in different time and circumstances.

I totally dispise the "buy this to show your support toward the serie/genere/company" reasoning. I buy something if I like it, not to "show support".
I remember Namco clinging to this philosphy when marketing Tales of Xillia in the West... "The possibility of Tales of Xillia 2 ever being translated depends on the salesfigures of Tales of Xillia", and some people of siliconera posting that they "must buy to support" and to get the second episode.
This is crazy! If I want the second episode I'll buy the second episode only, not the first!

I'm not sure how else they would judge demand other than by sales, so I don't really see a problem with it as long as their expectations for a very niche game like Oreshika are reasonable. But Sony should have already learned their lesson about this when they declined to localize Demon's Souls only for it to go on to be a million seller for Atlus. There's money in the right kind of RPGs.

And better for Namco to say, "We'll bring over Tales of Xillia 2 if Tales of Xillia sells well," than their previous, "We can bring over more Tales games if Splatterhouse and Dead to Rights sell well." That sets up a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation because if their western action games sell well, Namco is just going to make more western action games.

I don't see a problem is supporting the franchise I like, its not like I can buy every game of the genre I love anyway. Lol!

So what are you all playing on your Vita?:) Right now I have Trails in the sky and Ys Celceta. Im trying to beat these two before I move onto FFX/X-2 and some other games.

I'm currently replaying through Legend of Heroes games too ^^. Finished Trails in the Sky in anticipation for Sora 2nd and Zero no kiseki (for Ao HD) and now re-playing Sen to prepare for Sen II

On Sony JRPG comment, I have no issue with what they are saying (Sales will decide) as long as it's not something like what Square Enix said in the case of Legacy of Kain. If that shitty upcoming online arena game sells well than we might see a single player Legacy of Kain game in the future. Now thats bullshit. The only issue I have with Sony's comment is that if you're going to make such a big decsion then adverstise your game properly in the west. I've seen lots of people who think Oreshika is another hunting game lol

Been playing No Heroes Allowed:No Puzzles Either!. Everyone should try it out its f2p.

Been playing too, but is it me or does the game not work at all if you don't buy the unlimited digs? Cuz I tried it for a few days and all I could do was pretty much a dig a day, which kind of ridiculous. THen I bought unlimited digs and suddenly it became quite fun.

Its probably because to level up your monsters you need point and you can only dig as much times a day. So limited digs = limited points = limited stuff to do.  I would of bought the unlimited digs since its very cheap, but the retailers over here decided to stop selling the HK$100 psn cards (US$10 )

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

See I kind of get the limited digs/stuff to do. I mean that's how f2p games work. But this is just ridiculous. Someone would have to play once a day every day for a year and still wouldn't be able to finish the game without spending money. The should have let you dig at least once every 3 hours.

True to that, but im not to fuss about since its very cheap. They could of made it just a psn game or just a mini.

@TheGoldenBoy What an odd decision by Sony, deciding a genre based off one game and that game is Oreshika 2? =.=

That's something the director said... NOT SONY. but sony is betting a lot of money on Vita's jRPG, that's good, until now seems like have been worth.

And recently have been movement of IPs like Wild Arms and Dark Chronicles.. so probably we'll see more jRPG coming to SONY pltforms... and take notice that most of SONY's jrpg until now have been made from outter studios, oreshike is being made internally, and freedom wars too with some studios helping... SONY have been producer and publisher at most in all of those cases (dark souls, wild arms, wkc, rogue galaxy) but is working to expand their Tokyo studio.. so I can be positive  with this genre.. and I'll be supportive too.
