NesFe said: The no games thing is just people being ignorant, however what the vita needed were system sellers (Not that it matters anymore since the system is pretty much dead in the west). The only games that can be considered world wide known system seller exclusives are: Uncharted, Killzone, Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty. Uncharted did its job on launch, COD was a medicore rush job, though it did sell some systems ? Assassin's Creed (average game too) and Killzone launched along side their console versions with little advertising. Not to mention, how Sony started focusing on indie which pissed off a lot of people who bought the system for console experiences whatever that means. I love my vita, I have over 40 retail games on it, but we shouldn't pretend like it has world wide appeal. |
I don't think those are Worldwide system sellers... the sell a lot on the west, but in Japan not. i think the only Exclusive System seller the PlayStation brand have is Gran turismo, sell a lot in every market but mainly in Europe, and have been a constant +10mm in the las 4 entries (excluding gt5 prologue and Gt6 that just lunched).
I think that only a Gt could make some appeal to vita in all markets, but each market have its preferences... rpgs and hunting games on japan... Soccer, motorsports in Europe and Shooters in the west... i think a original monster hunter like FPS for the west could do the work.. borderland seems like kinda one.. but being a port of a 2 years old game, doesn't have any effect... a FPS lmix with Hunting games centered in Coop and grinding and crafting... and all the RPG stuff pepople like.. with short to mid duration missions... could attract more.. even could be based on already stablished franchise or a popular game.. by Example.... Destiny, Mass effect, the same Killzone... Resistance...
