KZM needs more sales!

It's okay, Vita digital sales are 250% physical so KZM is now a million seller, TRUFAX!

My Vita GOTY was Sly Cooper. Loving Tearaway, but I preferred the characters, story, and gameplay of Sly Cooper.

Ediy: Damn... didn't even beat 'other'.

Looking at yearly numbers on VGChartz... http://www.vgchartz.com/yearly/2013/Global/ shows interesting numbers on vita's sells... On Europe sells got down 35% with respect to 2012, and on USA -58% too. This show the poor support on SCEA and regular sometimes on SCEE. Meanwhile in Japan Vita got 80% UP with respect to 2012 and was the second best sold console fairly behind the 3DS, wich got down a 11% in that market but still have remarkable sells for a single country..

Still Europe is the territory with Vita users, but this will be for not so long.. les than 100k is Japan down and will catch probably this month....

Being that next year in Japan releases for Vita looks good (SSDelta, oreshikabane, gravitydaze, phantasy star, monsterhunterG, plus a lot a little dev supports in form of ports and dancing games) could Vita beat last year "good" sells in Japan?

Well, the 2014 lineup for Vita does look better than the 2013 one was, it's just in Europe at least, it's going to be how much that lineup appeals to people.

I think the Vita is currently dead in the water in the US. But with Football Manager and a nice selection of Japanese exports like Toukiden etc. there is scope to grow the userbase in Europe as we're generally more receptive to more niche games and a wider variety of games.

Hopefully Milestone are still on board for Vita meaning we might get another WRC title along with that Motorcross titles.

Vita also launched in the west in 2014, so they were launch numbers + holiday numbers - potential of sales in January & February.

Vita will be fine in Japan in 2014. Although its sales weren't as strong as I was hoping this year, especially with a price drop/remodel, I hope they've stabilized it in the market more than anything. I don't think there are a great number of hardware movers in 2014 aside from Phantasy Star which should sell on brand name & Sword Art Online which might get lucky if the anime airs concurrently, but hopefully the stream of releases will at least keep it stable.

edit: Just checked the Vita numbers in USA for 2014.  Sub 500k.  Holy shit, that is absolutely abysmal by any standard.

Good thing the games have legs, especially since so far there were no price cuts. If you add the KZ:M bundles in Europe and digital sales, the game sold decent by Vita standards. I hope they both keep on selling.

ACIII:L got ahead of CoD:BOD and is the second best selling Vita game - finally! Now lets hope that LBPV or (and) Persona 4 Golden can knock this disaster out of the podium.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

yeah.. it dropped on the US almost as it growed in Japan... and SAO, well there's a new anime announced for this year but i don't it will be aired by when vita's game release.. let's see if it can become a nice game IP, because the anime is not as big as last year was... Shingeki no Kyoujin swallowed all it's popularity..

Y'all have made me sift through the database again.

LBP 2013 outsold 2012.  But the game won't overtake CoD or AC any time soon, since it's very much a holiday seller (probably the kind of thing parents pick up for kids alongside LEGO titles).

Persona won't make it.  Would have to be the highest selling in the series and it did its heavy lifting in 2013.

This impressed me though:

YearYearlyChangeTotal
2012 210,331 N/A 210,331
2013 332,483 58.1% 542,814

Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Clearly people weren't that fussed about paying £40 for it but £15 was a much fairer price.

Killzone Merc & Tearaway did alright in the end.  Both of them outsold the other bombs of the year (Wonderful 101; Gaist Crusher; Fuse; Lost Planet 3) by quite some margin, so that's something I guess.

Batman Blackgate didn't do too well for itself though.  Guess reviews got the better of it.

Ah well, onwards to 2014.  Hope some of these localizations sell better than Ys; Valhalla Knights & Muramasa have been doing so far.  And Sorcery Saga I assume (since it seems we're not tracking that one in the USA).

Ah man, that was one of the best £37 I ever dropped on a handheld game.
