Surprisingly apt.

Oh, and it seems that FFX was outsourced.  Not surprising.  I'd not heard of the company they outsourced too; hopefully they'll contract them again for XII HD:

Virtuos had their hands in The Last of Us : http://www.virtuosgames.com/news/game-development/the-last-of-us-launches-with-3d-art-from-virtuos/

...but I haven´t heard of them before too.

I want to play XII on the Vita too, never played the original, but I heard the Zodiac edition is better than the original.

With FF X HD outselling Lightning Returns fw, it is very likely.

Yay.

To be honest, Lightning Returns & FFX probably performed similarly as LR reused a lot of assets from the previous games; while FFX was just updating old assets.

I just hope this means a future where Square Enix looks into releasing smaller-scale stuff like these titles to supplement their bigger stuff; rather than releasing only massive releases supplemented with mobile crap in between.

Yeah, I really do miss them as a great handheld-third party. I  just look at their output last gen on the DS and PSP.

...compared to their recent support :/ Army Corps of hell....and nothing else. (Even the 3DS gets minimal support from them)

...oh well, I hope we will get at least some quality titles out of them, between all the Bloodmasques, All The Bravests and Chaos Rings.

:(

Well, looks like I'll be depressed the rest of the day. I just finished The Walking Dead on Vita (and with that I got my 3rd platinum!!) and damn... dat ending. Still if you have a Vita and haven't played it I'd say it's a worthy purchase even with the technical issues. I honestly felt like having it on Vita and being able to curl up in bed with earphones to play over shadowed it's slowdown/shuttering. Now to finish Batman....

Also wasn't season 2 supposed to be on Vita as well?

PlayStation Vita Japanese Software Sales (Media Create Physical/ Famitsu Digital)

I mean, I get that they didn't want to implement a UMD drive into the Vita. Would probably be clunky as fuck. I still don't get why they thought that an optical medium would be ok to be used with a handheld console. Not only did that kill off any chance of the Vita having (physical) backwards compatibility, but it also means that the PSP games are the only handheld games I don't carry around all the time since the UMDs are so prone to breaking. It's annoying.

UMD was actually a pretty great idea.  I remember when me and my friend first saw a UMD game; we were amazed at how small the disc was.  It stored as much as a mini dvd as well.  Plus optical media wasn't in a decline and manufacturers were still playing around with mini discs and sd cards.  Hell I spent 150 bucks on a 4gig memory card for my PSP back then.  Solid state format just got viable when the cost per mb went down enough.  I personally would have liked a BD-UMD, imagine storing let's say 10 + gigs of data at a cheap price.  It'd be pretty nice.  Though the cons outweigh the pros (Which wasn't the case at the time.)

I bougth Totori Plus in a sale on PSN last year for 18$ :) but I'll wait to Rorona Remake release to play it all in order, but I could get Ayesha plus for Vita before I finish Arland trilogy and begin the dusk trilogy?.. all of those i'll play it on my Vita :)

nice, unfortunately they've never been on sale in europe i believe and 40 euros is a big blow on the gaming budget, especially if they keep releasing like 3 ateliers every year... i cant keep up.

yes you can get ayesha and start the dusk series since it's a whole new world and there's no connection.

Isn't that a bit misplaced? I mean for how long were this games out?

An award is an award, so we'll take it!

Then again, after the blow we received of the incredible Soul Sacrifice being nominated for most disappointing game, I will never ever forgive the VGC staff -_-
