It would be so awesome if Atlus made a Persona 3 Platinum for Vita.

Am I the only one who hates random encounters in JRPGs? Sometimes I just want to be able to walk in peace. Pokemon does it well (or did?) by not having pretty much everything a danger zone. If I need to backtrack it becomes a major pain in the ass. Especially since the goddamn battle intro and animations and everything take a huge amount of time.

Every game needs max repels. Bravely Default on 3DS allows you to change the encounter rate whenever you want, thats a cool idea

The best encounter system is active enemy symbols on the field map. You can run away from them when you don't want to bother, you can purposefully run into them when you want to grind. There's items that chase them away, or attract them, or render you invisible. Some games let you attack the enemy symbols on the map to either destroy them, stun them, or give you an advantage at the start of battle.

Pretty much all the better games do it this way now. Tales, Atelier, Legend of Heroes, Persona...

The old system of random encounters is extremely antiquated and lazy on the developer's part. The only time it's acceptable are for first person dungeon RPGs, and even then it's still possible to place enemy symbols on the map.

Certainly not!

But I want also to note the method employed by Capcom's RPG "Last Ranker" (PSP). In that game, you had a sort of frequent random encounters, but you were also given a fair chance to actively avoid them by maneuvering your character away from the monster. All it took was a bit of quickness with your directional stick...

AWESOME TOO! Need to finish P3!

Ehm how does it compare to the anime persona trinity soul? what's the story? (the movie looks like exactly the game, but i doubt a single movie will be enough)

Yes I saw that, definitely watching the movie.

And you're damn right, it would be really awesome, especially that PSP had P3P and then P2 Innocent sin, so maybe after the excellent P4G we can have Persona 3 Fes on Vita ?!!! Or maybe both P3 and Fes.

Nah, now they say there are no AAA games for vita, just "indie crap". Or that vita is ironic because it means life in Latin (bet no one knew this already).

But I thought Vita's problem was it's all big home console ports rather than quick pick up and play games more suited to handheld style? :p

Also found it amusing that there is a thread asking what Vita games you'd want on 3DS and some people want a few of the Vita games, but not on Vita.

Kresnik did you play WRC4 yet?

Yup.  It's alright.  Doesn't look like that much of a graphical upgrade over what I've seen of the third game.  Still got the 2D trees and textures everywhere :P

But it was kinda fun.  It's been a while since I played a rally game.  I'll wait for reviews and might pick it up once it's knocking around for £20.

OT: Came here to share my delight at Hotline Miami.  It's rapidly climbing up my "favourite Vita games" list so far.  If anyone hasn't got it already, pick it up in the EU Vita sale - only £3.24, and well worth that amount.

P.S. I want some Neptunia localization news :(

Hotline Miami is awesome. It really wasn't what I was expecting and to me, seems more at home on Vita than PC or PS3.

I find it incredibly difficult though. Isn't Hotline Miami 2 already confirmed for Vita next year?
