I don't think Sony "blocked" Monster Hunter Freedom 3 per say.  I think this entire thing came out when Capcom said "Hey Sony, Monster Hunter 4 is going to the 3DS... can you fix Ad Hoc party for us?"  and Sony said "Go fuck youselves". Anyway, it's not like they didn't support the PS2 or anything. The games they ended up putting on the PS2 ultimately dwarfed what they put out on the other two. But it was just strange to watch them flounder around on two struggling consoles like they did. Letting a famous Sony hater like Mikami try to migrate the entire Resident Evil series to the Gamecube was beyond idiotic. I always got the sense that maybe they didn't want Sony to have too strong a hand and so tried to help out Nintendo a little bit, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

If Capcom did not want Sony to have a too strong hand(though i'm 100% sure that capcom were the last to show such altruistic signs in favour of competetion) they would have done the same to Nintendo= releasing MH on vita instead of 3ds.

There's also no reason for Capcom to not have made the game multiplatform.  Hell if the Vita game was made they automatically have a PS3 port of the game that they could market outside of Japan.  Let's face it, Monster Hunter on Wii U isn't exactly a good idea (Though I haven't looked at Monster Hunter 3's sales so I can be terribly wrong.)

Imo it's moneyhatting.

Similar to final fantasy not being released for nintendo systems(just these chrystal chronicles spin offs=comparable to the current mh release for vita)As i've heard  MS has paid many millions to de-exclusify(does this word exist?)the series.

It also makes no sense that online games like Dragon Quest are exclusively released for the ultimate anti online console(Wii/U) but not for other systems.

I know it's a moneyhat and they probably shouldn't have taken it.  This is also why I said they're deal hasn't panned out for Capcom (Resident Evil's a good example, plus the lack of 3DS games on their part not Pheonix Wright).

Monster Hunter 4 wasn't made in a year.  Sony was probably going to fix Ad-hoc party until they found out Monster Hunter 4 was going to the 3DS.

I remenber reading Monster Hunter wad decided to be on 3ds because the release of Vita and 3ds so it's just moneyhatting.



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

EDGE gave KZ Merc and Dragons' Crown 6/10

Real talk..there really is a thing called a vita tax when it comes to review scores. Sigh the state of gaming media we are in now.

 

Screw them..I hope you guys support the title. It deserves it. I want to see more of it too

the only reviews that i read from any online press are those from Vandal.net.. a spanish game focussed website with a very profesional view of how a review should be.. They review every aspect of the title and ussually are 3 and more pages of text for any game... are exhaustive and informative wich gives a sense of objetiveness, really a pleasure to read, and they allow users to rate the games and You can see Editor'snote and User's average note. On vita titles ALWAYS user's are far above Editors, and they give very high notes to vita titles compared to others like IGN, EDGE, gamespot and RUNA (xD)..

I used to read IGN's but they don't make sense to me anymore since that comaprative between SFIV and Blazblue some years ago...

Yes I also remember reading Capcom saying the Vita isn't powerful enough for Resident Evil Revelations.  I also remember reading that Monster Hunter 4 isn't allowed to be on the Wii U because Monster Hunter games have to be exclusive (Despite the fact this was asked during an interview about Monster Hunter 3 on both the Wii U and 3DS.)

I never for a second thought Edge would like Dragon's Crown.  I dunno why.  I just couldn't see them reviewing it positively; not their kind of thing.
