More evidence Injustice is coming to Vita, aka the worst kept secret in gaming.

Worms Revolution Extreme out on 9th October; £11.99.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/09/25/worms-revolution-extreme-release-date-confirmed/

Steep price, but this is the first in a run of downloadable games that I'll be buying for the Vita. I was tempted to buy a PSP version of Worms so I had a pocket version, but now I'm glad I waited for this.

Next up: Terraria!

P.S. So, what's the verdict Mike? :)

£11.99 is actually pretty damn good for what you get. First game I'll be getting after I've got married then! haha

Not bad at all to have cross save, only £1.00 more than the PS3 version and 50% off if you have PS+ and the PS3 version already (sadly I don't). - edit, if you DONT already have the PS3 ver, you can get 50% off it when buying witth the Vita ver :D shame I don't have PS+ XD

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

If Capcom did not want Sony to have a too strong hand(though i'm 100% sure that capcom were the last to show such altruistic signs in favour of competetion) they would have done the same to Nintendo= releasing MH on vita instead of 3ds.

Possibly, or maybe they're happy with smart phones as an alternative to the 3DS.

It would not be altruistic to not want a major platform holder to be in a position to behave like Nintendo in the '80s and early '90s.

that's a good point...but Capcom did not do anything to change this in the 80ies or 90ies as I remember.EA did by supporting Sega Mega Drive(genesis?).That's when the neverending lovestory bigN-EA has started  and EA is still hated by nintendofans since than)

Right now Capcom port an old monster hunter(instead of porting the new one(easier to port a new game for coders than a 5+years old one)??Are they now trying to push Nintendo back to the monopol they had in the 90ies to be again treated like shit+ the fact that almost all companies know that is very hard for 3rd parties to succeed on nintendo systems and a lot easier on sony/sega/ms.

I still think(without evidence) its a moneyhatting thing as all other reasons are not smart ,contraproductive and may have ugly consequences as shareholders can Sue you for willingfully missing huge opportunities.

And focussing on Smartphones games?I have no idea about the japanese market, but if the market is as fragmented as in the western world and smartphone+ casual gamers are as ignorant as in the western world than that's extrem risky business.

it is a damned good price-i paid for the first one on ps1 ca 50 euro. And it was worth the money as I played it with(or better vs) friends  almost 10 years regularly(with special rules, fines + rankings)

I have no idea what happened between Sony and Capcom (plus Capcom and Nintendo) but the lack of Monster Hunter title had some major effect on PS Vita on a bad way. However, hopefully Sony will use it's core competence (in terms of gaming) and push some amazing titles from first party studios. Imo, if Sony got MH4 we would never had Soul Sacrifice and that would be a big loss.

I'm not sure, either. With Monster Hunter it could be as simple as Nintendo offering assistance with promoting the franchise and Capcom being annoyed by SCEA blocking Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD. But it seems like there could be something larger. Capcom was all in on the PS1 and then pulled back a bit the following generation, giving the Gamecube and Xbox a lot more support than they warranted (not coincidentally, this is when Capcom actually did get into financial trouble). The Capcom Five was a very strange move, especially Resident Evil 4 which should have been a huge hit but flopped on the 'cube and forced the company to liquidate a bunch of assets. Either there's a little bad blood between them and Sony, or Capcom just makes really terrible business decisions for no apparent reason.

I don't think Sony "blocked" Monster Hunter Freedom 3 per say.  I think this entire thing came out when Capcom said "Hey Sony, Monster Hunter 4 is going to the 3DS... can you fix Ad Hoc party for us?"  and Sony said "Go fuck youselves". As far as Gamecube and Xbox support, not really.  Capcom generally throws games onto consoles to see what works/doesn't.  Xbox just got Onimusha 1 and Dino Crisis, that's it really cause they didn't stick.  Capcom 5 was directly because of Mikami.  That asshat had it out for Sony.  Though those financial troubles were from him which is why Capcom showed him the door.

Nonono... this happened long before the 3DS Monster Hunter games were announced. Dont try to sugercoat Sony here, they were at fault. They even told Capcom at first that they were gonna do it, and after dragging it on for a long time went: Its not high on our priority list. At that point Capcom didnt have a choice.

Its good that it happened cause Sony learned a valuable lesson there.

Maybe. I really wouldn't be surprised if MH4 3DS was just the natural result of Nintendo and Capcom working together on MH Tri on the Wii.

Xbox got Steel Battalion, too. That one hurt.

Anyway, it's not like they didn't support the PS2 or anything. The games they ended up putting on the PS2 ultimately dwarfed what they put out on the other two. But it was just strange to watch them flounder around on two struggling consoles like they did. Letting a famous Sony hater like Mikami try to migrate the entire Resident Evil series to the Gamecube was beyond idiotic. I always got the sense that maybe they didn't want Sony to have too strong a hand and so tried to help out Nintendo a little bit, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

There's also no reason for Capcom to not have made the game multiplatform.  Hell if the Vita game was made they automatically have a PS3 port of the game that they could market outside of Japan.  Let's face it, Monster Hunter on Wii U isn't exactly a good idea (Though I haven't looked at Monster Hunter 3's sales so I can be terribly wrong.)

Imo it's moneyhatting.

Similar to final fantasy not being released for nintendo systems(just these chrystal chronicles spin offs=comparable to the current mh release for vita)As i've heard  MS has paid many millions to de-exclusify(does this word exist?)the series.

It also makes no sense that online games like Dragon Quest are exclusively released for the ultimate anti online console(Wii/U) but not for other systems.

Actually, in Final Fantasy's case, it was capacity of N64 cartridges and their cost that sent Square away.

Final Fantasy VII once it was no longer happening on the N64, was I believe initially shifted over too the Sega Saturn before Sony came in and offered to publish, distribute the game world wide for them if they changed it to a PS1 title (unproven format at the time).

So yeah, Sony moneyhatted them to get the game, but it wasn't coming to Nintendo regardless due to their storage medium choice.

Well, they did just have a big conference at which they announced 20 games for mobile and browsers... so that's clearly where their focus is.
