I wonder how Soul Sacrifice Delta will perform in Japan.

Sony are definitely doing the right thing if they want to push it as a big IP over there... "G" versions while the next game is development definitely keeps momentum going.

I just wonder if they've backed the right series. Freedom Wars seems like it'll have a lot more mainstream appeal. Soul Sacrifice looks like a much "better" game in my eyes, but that doesn't always translate to commercial success.

Regardless, it looks good. The first game has been on my "to buy" list for a while, but I may as well just wait for Delta now.

Tracker had consider the dual pack as just one game sold and it look like people forget this fact.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I wonder if it'll get a western release. Weren't the sales of Soul Sacrifice disastrous here?

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I agree, I like a lot SS, but it doesn't have the general appeal for the "for everyone" audience that turn making big Ips in japan, on the west didn't have a warm wellcome as i thoought could be... the problem is too much mature to be a big one on japan... is not imposible, but is hard.

In that regard, freedome Wars and Phantasy Star NOVA seem more like what japanbese like.. even Toukiden and God Eater have more chance of become great shift makers in Japan... Well, at least fans ofthis type of Action RG will have a great variety of options.. and never will be bored with it...

But i will support SS Delta, I loved the stiry and setting, the artwork, the music, and this is the type of games i enjoy most so to guarantee a third game I'll buy the next update, being physical or update... with all the new stories and gameplay mechanichs i'msure it will be worth my money Day One again...

I believe XSeed have said this is one of their most successful IPs in the west or something similar. I'm guessing there's a good niche following for it or something

I can't believe that's true based on the fact that XSeed is still in business.

Loving the additions on Soul Sacrifice Delta.

I don't know why can't Soul Sacrifice gather millions of sales as of Monster Hunter ??
Monster Hunter has this slow gameplay that I hate much more than any other MH-Clone?, though it has a monstrous content for a 100h+.
That Type-0 hype, SE should definitely announce something this TGS if they want to keep the Hype up !

Other than the vertical movement complaint in the original, I just want Soul Sacrifice delta to add lots of new weapons, maybe some hybrids, like a magic staff that can be used for melee attacks or mid range elemental spells, melee weapons with different aesthetics (small sword, Large 2 handed, dual wielding etc..) and different movement animations (slow, fast, rest the weapon over the shoulder, etc..). I felt melee weapons were underused in the original (I only used them in the beginning and in the final boss fight).

If they want to, the game can have much more depth , and I hope they are planning to do that. Also add a dozen or so costumes (not color variants ) ^^.

A bloody, dark fantasy type game is just never going to be that successful in Japan. When you make something like that you limit your potential audience a lot from the very start.

And Japan already has Type-0. Short of an International Edition type rerelease on the Vita, which I doubt they'll do, I don't know what they'd even announce at TGS.

Indeed, the artstyle and the whole concept behind the game really narrow it's audience by a lot. Hopefully it will expand by carving its own niche, as I would like to see it becoming a big hit worldwide.

That would necessitate the Vita becoming a big hit worldwide first. -_-

I think that multiplayer centric games on portables are a tough sell outside of Japan. But ironically, according to what Nintendo was saying a few weeks ago about how people don't want to play time consuming home console style games on a handheld, Soul Sacrifice is much more suited for handhelds than is Monster Hunter.
