Even if the patch replaces some data it's smarted to go with physical if you have a 4GB card. Future DLC maps etc will take up some space too ;)

of course is mandatory!  Like ALL games tat have a beta before it release! if is 1gb is not just a sum, some data could just replace others... like PSASBR's Updates that goes from 500mbs the first one to 800mb the last.. but the game is still arround 2.2gb just 450mb more than the initial size..

Sorry but do you enjoy rush and unfinished games or something that need day one patches?  I mean it isn't like memory card space on Vita is an issue for many people and nobody likes the high prices of the cards.  Oh wait, is exactly like that.  So forcing updates on people is bogus.  It takes an extra 1GB, does not overwrite.

Of course it is mandatory?  That doesn't even make sense, it doesn't need be mandatory, it just is, stupid decision by Sony/GG.  The xbox 360 makes many patches optional for arcade users and is possible to play games online against other unpatched players.


Oh and if you think the Beta had -ANY- input on this patch you're very wrong.  The Beta was a stress test for the online, nothing more.  Even if they gathered some data from the beta to make changes, this patch would have been decided, designed, developed and sent to QA ages ago.  They don't just make a patch and release it a day later.  QA takes weeks alone.

You  have written something right/deep thought in this post, BUT I don't think a game out on Vita second year and in production since some time BEFORE the console launch can be called "rushed"? We should have someone who has the psn version and tells us the TOTAL size before and after the patch, because data can't be replaced in the cartridge.

Different servers with different versions of the game is a pain for player (few people) and of course for sony's money.

I'm like that too. I've bought too many games that scored 10's simply because I thought they were good based on scores. And I deeply regreted that decision later. But again I bought games that scored 6-7, and I enjoyed them tremendously. (Example being on one side GTA 4, on other games like NIER, Alpha Protocol...)

Buying games just by the score is the dumbest thing a gamer can do. COD: Modern Warfare 3 has 88/100 in Metacritic, and it's the worst Shooter I've ever played in my PS3.

The thing is that Sony doesn't pay reviewers.

I got my Killzone: Mercenary copy today and there is no network pass!
I lent my vita and the game to a friend who is a crazy killzone fan in hope he buys the system, he's constantly messagging me about how good it is and also says he has to give it back because he can't stop playing! Problem is: he WON'T buy the system ever in my opinion because it's a portable,
I hate what people think (and no, he's not saving for ps4)
question: is there OFFLINE multiplayer mode???? If not it sucks!!!!!!!!!!! what's the point of having a portable console if you can't play with your friend on the train????

ps: i went to GS and they didn't have the preorder bonus yet! I hate them! They said to come again in a few days, so the bonus will be out of stock of course

they didn't knew they HAD the game today! They want the Vita DEAD! Bonus was: Real deck of killzone cards, cool!

Aren't the Legend of Heroes games being remade or re-released on Vita or PS3?

That series is honestly all over the place.  

There's a new chapter coming to PS3/PSV this month in Japan.  The two previous games to that are on PSP but have been remade for Vita.  Trails in the Sky is a trilogy which comes before any of these games; and it's the only game we've had in the west.
