Vita still doomed.

One decent port and a bunch of indie games (many available on steam, PS3, PS4) is not going to do shit. Vita been well below the price cut point already too and it didn't change sales.

It needs new, original non-shitty, non-indie games, and none were announced.

Those games exist and come out in Japan.

Sony needs to bring them over.

PSO2

Tales of Innocence/Hearts

God Eater 2

Just to name a few. They need to come to the west. Especially given Sony west seems to have stopped internal development on the Vita to focus on the PS4.

Remote play is the saving grace of the Vita. If it wasnt for it i would probably sell it after Ys comes out.

So, I've finally had time to recover and think about everything announced. And you know what, I'm pretty pleased with what they showed.

Minecraft / Starbound completes the holy trinity, along with Terraria, of sandbox-ness on Vita for me. And I'm really happy with that. You can give me loads of AAA games but I can pretty much guarantee I'd spend more time on Minecraft than any of them. I've been asking for it for a long time, so I'm really pleased with that.

Lots of other indie stuff I'm interested in playing too. Fez is something I'll buy; Hotline Miami 2 & Volume as well. I notice from the blog that Switch Galaxy Ultra is coming (i.e. non-PlayStation Mobile version), so I'll definitely buy that.

I'm also probably going to buy Borderlands 2; definitely something I think is suited to the Vita. May also buy Football Manager, too, although I haven't played any games in that series since they were called Championship Manager, and that was about 2001 :P

Surprisingly, though, the best thing I saw that was Vita-related was Murasaki Baby. Colour me interested in that one.

So all-in-all, some pretty good announcements there. I love the next AAA game as much as the next person, but they're actually delivering a lot of stuff I want, so I'm pleased.

Side note, I hope Shahid gets "Papers, please" onto Vita. I want to play it but I'm holding out for news on other platforms.

Couple of things I noticed that you guys may be interested in:

The Borderlands 2 port is being handled by one of the teams behind Divekick.

The FEZ port is being handled by the team who are porting Spelunky.

So watch out for the quality of those two as a future indicator.

This I agree with, these are the type of games that made the PSP successful and its kind of surprising that Sony has not tried to help in bringing this games over. At this rate they may as well change the Vita name to Indie. lol!

Switch Galaxy Ultra info.  Glad I held off on this one.

If Uncharted and Call of Duty can't sell the Vita, nothing can. NOTHING. Well maybe Bioshock. *looks at sales* Never mind.

GTA can

You're dreaming if you think that people will buy a handheld for a game that they can get infinitely better on a home console they already have.

What did people buy PSP for initially then? Wipeout, GTA, (the promise of Gran Turismo)... yeah...

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Exactly.

It's no use waiting for serious games from America or Europe.

The Vita is being already "saved", it's a matter of wanting to translate this salvation in English.

I think the Playstation brand name at that time was so strong that a portable Playstation was a huge selling point all on its own.

Do you guys remember that AAA game which wasn't ready to be shown in the E3 as Shahid said, and will definitely be shown at Gamescom ? Is it Borderlands2 ? cause we only got: Borderlands on Vita, so it's not doom.. But on the other hand, I hate this announcement cause it means that we'll no longer see the Bioshock Vita.
