Do the framerate dips affect gameplay? How bad or noticible are they? I'd actually prefer to get it on Vita, but if it is bad I'll get it on PS3.

I have Sonic for Vita and it kicks ass! No framerate issues, looks beautiful, and feels perfect on Vita. I feel that Kart racers are better on portables and to me Sonic Transformed is much better than MK7. Get Sonic, the game deserves a purchase!

Me too. For me, kart racers and platformers are more enjoyable on handhelds. Well ... .you've helped me with my decision. Definitely getting it for Vita. I keep hearing this game is the best kart racer this gen, better than LBP Karting and even MK7 (though I'll have to confirm that). That's good enough for me.

I don't even LIKE racing games, and I loved NEed For Speed on the vita.  Wipeout was great, too, but really hard.  HArd is rewarding.  Steep learning curve for sure, but those are the two I'd recommend.  Need for speed and Wipeout. 

Also, my god I'm glad this didn't happen when I was playing Dragon's Crown.  I just went to play it with my brother, and the game data had been corrupted!  Lost all my save data.  Luckily I'd saved some of it to the cloud, but that was like halfway through my review run.  Sadface.  It's not all bad though, now that I have knowledge about the game's shortcomings, I can overcome them and enjoy couch multiplayer.  Get a group of four together toplay together and play with different folks.  good stuffs.

As BlowoverKing said. No frame rate issues on the Vita port. The detail in the visuals is scaled back but it plays near identical to the ps3 ver (much like Need for Speed) given the fact you're playing it on a 5" screen means the visuals don't take much of a hit at all tbh. Also has full online play :)

Cant wait till the vita picks up. great console overall.

I want a vita really bad but im waiting for a price drop, or something. If sony really bundles the ps4 with the vita, thats a Day one buy for me

Vita best racer so far : Wipeout 2048 without any single doubt.

NFS MW vita is a very good nfs. Too bad the need for speed serie failed to produce any single decent racing simulation game on this gen.

It did come out on time, they said it'd be out in the UK in Feb, and it came out in the UK in Feb :p
