HEY - anyone playing the Soul Sacrifice DLC?

Well this is the thread of the Vita cult, only others don't see it as a loving homage or joke.  

I've been torn apart for every bad thing I've ever said about the vita in this thread, even if others were saying the same thing.  why?  

In this thread, I've been bitched at, most recently, for telling it as I experienced it on a game that others supposedly 'didn't find all that bad'.  As a reviewer, I'm supposed to report on my findings and my experiences without any input or influence from outside sources, and when I played the Jak and Daxter collection on Vita, it was nigh unplayable.  I reflected that in my review, and I get 'called out'  as a hater, or that I was exagerrating for effect.  How is that not cultish behaviour?  

As I've repeated on numerous occasions, you wouldn't be torn apart or criticized nearly as much if you didn't exagerrate or changed your phrasing to not be antagonistic or venomous. I wouldn't say this response to your post is exclusive to this thread as when you give out your strong, blunt opinion, you get opposition everytime.

That is exactly the problem. People compare Vita games to home console games. The 3DS doesnt get compared to PS3/360 games, its its own portable gaming self. The Vita is too good a portable for its own good cause people want to place it side by side with home consoles.

People need to compare the Vita to the 3DS. And yes the 3DS has loads of great games wich is why i have one, but the Vita has good games aswell but while the 3DS versions are seen as great on the 3DS, they are seen as crap on the Vita.

Example with the current Jak and Daxter collection. Compare that to Super Mario 3D land in terms of scope, depth and complexity. There are performce issues compared to the PS3 version, but how is this compared to Super mario? Better graphics, more expansive levels, engrossing storyline and cheaper price. The problem here is it gets compared to the PS3 and compared to that version its just not as good. Its a problem of perspective. The Vita has been getting high standards set against it for some reason. Maybe its because Uncharted and Wipeout looked so good early on.

I want people to understand how opinions work. Technical aspects are not opinion oriented. But quality of games are all about opinions. I'm currently playing Guacamelee and I think this game is more more fun than 90% of the so called 'AAA' games. AAA is not a positive...it's a weak vague marketing term that really holds no value other than to try and inflate the status of games. AAA was meant to be about budget of games. If anyone thinks budget of handheld games will match the so called AAA budget of console games you are out of your mind. Portable games will always be cheaper to make games for and that's perfectly fine as long as the games are great.

My issue lies with sony not giving more games support and ignoring the system at E3. It never lied with the quality of the titles we had. If you bought a handheld thinking you will get AAA home console budget games then you should have done better research before your purchase. You won't find AAA on 3ds either.

And I would REALLY appreciate if people could stay away from dumb remarks like "people here over hype games" etc. It reflects bad on you. People like what they like and people hype what they want to. I think SOul Sacrifice is at least a 85/100 game and I don't give a rats ass about what others think about it..it's my opinion, #dealwithit

They are being called crap on PSVita anyway... Is just that Vita doesn't a big console seller, just that... and now will have to find it's Monster Hunter and it's mario/animal crossing...

or get the old bestselling franchise back on it with exclusive (even timed) titles, like Final fantasy, metal gear Solid, Resident Evil, Silent Hill (Book of memories doesn't count), dragon quest (higly doubt it), etc...

 

But telling the true... I'm very happy with vita's lineup until now... and for the next year.. lots of Fighting and jRPG games.. all that i like, Now i can only hope some announcements like translating the tales of and some other namco and sega games for the console (PSO2 please!)

 

Vita is juts my type of console.. 3DS even if sell trillions with mario, Pokemon, monHun, Zelda and Animal Crossing is not my thing.. until now (next year gonna pick one for Bravely default :)...
