So, I am hearing that the Vita has no remote play for PS3 titles even though they say it did?

I am reading about how Sony showed Killzone3 playing at TGS, meanwhile people now claim Killzone3 doesn't even work with Vita remote play.

Remote play is one of my biggest selling points and if this feature ends up being just as useless as the PSP version I may need to hold off.

Seriously, this recent news is very very unsettling.

Remote Play promise falling way short.

Sony already jacking up software prices to $50.

Memory card is required yet not provided with console purchase.

Now, I already have my preordered paid in full, but right now I am doubting whether or not I want to follow through with a $270+ investment when the things that made me so excited for the product amounted to nothing but smoke blown up my ass.

I really think Sony needs to stop claiming their products will do things only to strip them away last minute. It doesn't help them in the long run.

Ughh, this damn thing is driving me nuts. If I get the Vita + Gravity Rush + Memory Card then I have to skip out on Ni No Kuni, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Tales of Graces F and whatever else is due for release early 2012.

Damn you Sony.

lol don't worry about remote play. it's just something they are still implimenting, it's jsut a matter of enabling it via patch/firmware update which I'm sure will come next year around launch.

only GA is 50 bucks tho, they have been very good with the varying prices with some games around 20bucks from the start. and PSN releases are most probably cheaper as well

it's up to you mate

@kivi: yeah fingers crossed...sadly i doubt we will see the game in the west

yeah I knew the numbers will be down (personally was thinking around 100k mark so still a bit disappointing) but there are man y reasons behind why this is

1. PSP; the device is cheaper and is still getting the majority of Japan centric games at the moment. 3ds does not have this issue now. this is why within the next year support for psp will go down and support for psv in Jp will pick up. when that happens by this time next year, situation will be VERY different. this is exactly why I am happy to see Gundam announced for vita..it's a sign of sw support shifting

2. strong competition, 3ds is cheaper due to the price cut, plus it had 3 of its biggest titles launch very recently.

3. lack of wifi units, many are claiming wifi units are in short supply or sold out in Jp. wifi is cheaper and 3g model being sim locked can't help either

these are the main reasons for the situation in Jp...it is not good..but no way is it dire. I avoided saying these things and avoided the MC thread altogether since I knew to the usual suspects who claimed psp2 is doa even before it was announced, reasoning will have no effect. this is jsut the begining :) sony have problems to face both in jp and west but let's see how it goes in the first 1-2 years i nthe market. if one thing we should learn from the past of sony is that, they definitely know how to turn things around

I need to worry about remote play since is an important feature for me. I can't continue to hijack the big screen all the time just to play my super long RPGs, which is why I was so excited about the Vita and the possibility of XIII-2, Ni No Kuni, etc... being playable on the Vita via remote play.

Yes, I understand that UGA is the only game at $50, but how long before we possibly see great UGA sales, resulting in Sony jacking up more 1st party titles like Resistance, Killzone, etc...? Then do not be surprised to see 3rd party companies follow suit, companies like Activision, who you know full well will charge $50 for a CoD.

Give them an inch and they will walk a mile, and that mile they walk will be right over both me and you.

Then to add fuel to the fire Sony claimed that games will be saved to the carts, only to then backtrack and say memory cards are required, meanwhile UGA doesn't even take up all the space of the Vita cart, meaning the swap was for nothing more than a money grab.

I don't like the way things are moving right now.

I LOVE the handheld. I love almost every single thing about it, but this whole bait & switch fiasco is making me angry.

I am going to hang onto my preorder anyways since nothing else is coming out between now and the Vita launch other than XIII-2 which I know will drop in price fast, so I will continue to wait and hope Sony gets their shit together and follows through with the promises that made me want this device in the first place.

I really do hope the PSN versions are a noticable difference too, not a drop from $50 to $45. I expect more like $50 to $40 or $40 to $30. 20% drop for something you never really own to begin with sounds fair, although I would like it to be more of a drop.

Remote play can be implemented in the future, when the original PSP came out with Remote play, it was after a while after its launch.

The memory card situation was made so homebrew developers wouldnt be able to hack into the PSP and make custom firmware (i.e. piracy software). (Although this is impossible since eventually they'll get through it but it will take them alot longer along with the security patches that Sony will be releasing).

imo, you should wait if you are planning to get other games. Otherwise you can still enjoy Gravity Rush and any PSP titles you have missed during the PSP era.

I am afraid that if I wait I might never get one, not to mention that I am only getting one because it was a gift from my fiance, so I have little to no choice, lol.

Than might as well enjoy it :)

I'm sure there will be worthwhile games coming out in 2012.

I am sure I will, but I just want my Ni No Kuni, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Tales of Graces F Vita style!

Plus I have yet to get into Resonance of Fate or Star Ocean 4 yet, so I would like them to work too but I won't hold my breath for those (2).

yeah I see where you're coming from ..but they did say it will be available for majority of the games (they did show it for KZ3 so they do have it working)..it's just a matter of time at this point, i seriously doubt it will not happen.

as for UGA again...i als won't be buying it for 50 and I doubt many will..hence the price will without a doubt drop soon after. I will be spending money on other titles like SumiOni, Gravity, Escape Plan etc first anyways..I won't to support those devs and show that there really is a audience for such titles as well..so like you said let's show them with our wallets
