Originally, the idea of multiple players getting their own WiiU controller on the system struck me as what would be expected, because EVERY home system had offered support for more than one of its base controller. But, in another thread on here, it appears that the WiiU will only support one of the touch screen controllers, that comes with the system. So, it is speculation time for the impact. Here are some thoughts I have, and why maybe it doesn't matter:
* The Wii controllers will be supported. For multiple players, it looks like the Wiimote with nunchuck and others will be used. Question does remain how many controllers.
* Support for the 3DS as a controller is likely to be an option. This is where the discussed integration between the 3DS and the U is a possibility. Want to do play selection at Madden and keep it hidden? This is a way to do it.
* Parents who have a kid who wants a HD system, but don't have a high def TV yet, will end up having the U as a choice. The controller enables their kid to play the system, even if they can't run it in HD.
* LAN parties become more viable. If you want to run more than one system linked up, the U system allows people to not have to lug a second monitor around with them.
All in all, it looks like, eventhough it looks like the one normal controller for the system is not normal, I am speculating what I wrote above means it doesn't matter as much. Maybe I am off, and welcome input here on this.
