Forums - Microsoft - Cliff Bleszinski Hits Out At Kinect Hate

I agree with him, but thats because I've had a huge amount of fun with Kinect. I can't really empathize with people who don't like it, but I do recommend at least trying it before you hate on it. It's surprising good.

Still, I know a bad press conference when I see it. Two today, actually. I also learned that, good lord, do Sony fanboys have incredibly low standards for their conferences.

I guess I must have low standards cause I thought both press conferences were solid >_<

You do :P

I remember Microsoft's Alan Wake & Spinter Cell Conviction reveals conference. Ended with FFXIII. That has since been my standard for them . . . and it just didn't work out this year. Love the Kinect, er, love, but as far as a full conference with huge reveals and big surprises, I've been severely disappointed.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Ok I can definitely agree with you about the huge reveals and big surprises...those parts were quite underwhelming. But as far as pure good content shown I think MS had the best E3 in the past couple of years and Sony's was slightly worse then the past couple of years.

Thank you Cliffy. People need play Kinect if they like it, or just stop whining and play games with traditional controllers like GOW 3, Halo Anniversary, Forza 4, Ryse (which has controller as option) and the plathora of 3rd party games which use traditional controllers or have Kinect only as an option.

I love you Cliffy.

That is all

I've said this in another thread, but I hate kinect the way an older but still immature brother hates on a new born baby because he no longer enjoys the undivided attention of the parents. Immature? Fuck yes! Irrational? Maybe! But no matter how much rational arguement you provide me, it doesn't stop the hate.

And I whole heartedy agree with the second statement, those were some pretty shitty conference.

Makes sense to me. The sad part is this wouldn't be a problem is Microsoft got it's lazy ass in gear and had it's first parties make some freaking games for both Kinect and controller in the same way Sony is working with Move.

Microsoft's greatest weakness is in it's (lack of?) first parties with any exceptional amount of talent.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

So his a Microsoft shill with a reason to defend an integration on his upcoming game, that's what it basically comes down to. The same thing could be applied to Ken Levine and the Move, his little presentation was gut wrenching, only because you can actually see the bulge of money slowly trickling out of his pockets.

Also, Kinect as a secondary device isn't the problem, if it could be ignored, then cool, but it can't be because it's being shoved down my throat every time I want to do something related to the 360. Oh hey, I need a new 360 S, what's that? Not one bundle in Melbourne comes without a Kinect? They want me to pay an extra $150 for a peripheral that is pretty horrible? No thank you. As a current 360 owner who doesn't own a Kinect (like the other 40 million people), Microsoft had nothing for me this E3, they've showed what their focus is on and it's not me and it's because they've decided that putting all their resources towards Kinect is a much better strategy for them.

Basically, Cliffy is an idiot and a shill and the day I listen to anything he says is the day I take motion controls seriously.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
