Forums - Gaming - Official Thread for Smartphone Gaming Believers!

Do us smartphone gamers and our devices tend to get the recognition we deserve? I think not!

Do our devices have some truly kick ass titles? I think so!

Do our devices bring us games and experiences not found on other handheld devices? I think so!

Do the non-believers fear us? I think so!

Alright, in all seriousness I feel this site REALLY needs to start focusing a bit more on the mobile gaming arena because it brings some truly awesome games to us all and everytime I find something awesome I am going to most likely let it be known here since I have nowhere else I tend to spend my internet time.

I mainly do my gaming on my Android phone lately so forgive me if I ignore sometimes exclude you iUsers.

I am also doing this so I can get some more recommendations for awesoe mobile games!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Anyways I am going to start off by letting you Android only users know the game that is currently overtaking my gaming life (Yes I have put L.A. Noire on hold for this game, lol).

It is called Robotek and it made by Hexage. It is a bit frustrating at times and causes me to need to put down my phone but it is also so much fun that even though I have deleted it twice due to frustration I ended up downloading it again and again.

Anyways, has anyone else checked this one out yet?

Good idea! :)

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, 'cos I've just gotten my very first smartphone. ^^

My smartphone has also taught me that so many companies are 100% full of shit. For example I have this title on my Samsung Galaxy S called Samurai II: Vengeance. This game is only available to download on devices that feature NVidia Tegra graphics chips (Which amounts to ~5 devices or so) and claimed to not work on anything but those devices.

The homebrew community said "They are fucking liars" and earlier today I downloaded a version of the title that works flawlessly on my PowerVR enabled device.

See what money and bullshit marketting gets people to believe?

The guys over at the sites I frequent make awesome things happen. Enabling me to play games otherwise unavailable to me unless I :

A.) Buy a Tegra device which would probably cost me ~$500 or more.

B.) Cancel my plan for ~$250 and grab a Tegra device with a new plan contract for ~$200.

Instead I paid nothing and get to prove that NVidia is full of shit.

Android, however much I love iStuff, it's too pricey for a poor student like myself.

So anyway, I know practically zero about smartphone games, bar Angry Birds, so any and all suggestions would be most welcome!

What is your gaming preference and what phone do you have?

Sadly the device may matter, although not with compatibility but more so performance.

Also what carrier to you have?

My gaming preference is varied. But I guess I'm sort of a platformer/adventure/point-and-click/arcade guy. Not really into fighting/racing/shooting games.

I got a Samsung Galaxy Mini. Probably not too great, but I don't plan to extensively invest in gaming on the thing anyway, just as a fun option to pass the time when it needs passing.

As for the carrier, you probably wouldn't know it, it's a Dutch one, Ben.

Are you talking about the "Tegra Zone" games? If so, NVidia never said that those gams only work on Tegra devices. The said that those games are optimized for tegra devices.

I demand this thread be lockedz!!!! >:(
