Yeah...it's happened (at least seems to have), my ps3 has a yellow light o'death!!

Luckily, I'm still under warrenty so I'm not switching to pirating just yet ¬_¬

But right now, Giant Crabs is blinking a red light at me and when I try to switch it on, it ignores me or tries to come on then shows a yellow light.

I left it originally for about 45mins, it worked for about2 mins then died again (annoyingly, it didn't occur to me to eject Disgaea 3 from inside ¬_¬) so now my disc is stuck inside and I can't access it.

3 questions:

1: Chances are I'm gonna have to get a replacement but I kinda did a stupid thing. The console was having issues a couple of months ago so I sent it in for repairs, it came back with a random sticker on it, not having a clue what it was, I decided to remove it only to realise it was a Warranty sticker. My question is: How does that affect anything?

2: Assuming all goes well, what are the chances I can get it back before the store comes back? Don't want to miss out on all the freebies and backlog of downloads.

3: How sad on a scale of 1-10 is it that it was during a playthrough of Free Realms that my ps3 decided to die on me? (I bet Giant Crabs thought "oh fuck this, not this shit again!")

There was nothing on the sticker that said it was a warrenty sticker, it just looked like any random sticker (there were a couple on the packaging when it came back to me so I assumed that was just another one left there.)

Yea that sucks.  Why the hell would you remove the warranty sticker, silly?  I guess you'll either have to pay for it or maybe plead your case to Sony, maybe they'll be forgiving.  Lol, on a cynical note, you could call up and if they refuse to pay for it, just go ballistic about the PSN thing and losing your info.  Maybe that will change their mind.

Or just wait til the price cut and upgrade to a Slim.

unfortunately, the warranty for Sony expired ages ago, this is a GAME extended warranty, I don't know how sympathetic they'll be with me.

How long do you have your PS3 for? I have the same type and now I'm worried... I got mine in sept '09.

I'm about to do a back-up anyway cause i'm shipping my stuff to California tomorrow.

Oh, so the Sony option is out.  Well, then I guess you could call up Game.  Have they lost your info, lately? 

If not, I guess the Slim is always an option.
