I change my mind every other month but I have to say PS1 this time:

Beyond the Beyond was my very first non-nintendo RPG and I fell in love with the game. It was long, hard, and jammed packed with traditional jrpg elements.

Then Tekken 2, holy mother of all that's holy! I played that game to hell and back.

PS1  just kept throwing new stuff at me that I never imagined possible in gaming like Twisted Metal 1. Damn, when that first came out, I converted to a Sony loyalist and left Nintendo.

And of course, the game that made me into the Survivor Horror fan I am today, Resident fucking Evil! Again, something completely new that I never experienced in gaming. That game turned my world upside down. I literally had friends want to come over just to play Resident Evil.

People mistake me for some Final Fantasy hater when that couldn't be any further from the truth. I am perhaps the biggest Final Fantasy-Soft era- on VGC. Do you guys ever get annoyed by our young VGC Final Fantasy fans who blindly love anything they release? That's exactly how I was during the golden  Soft age. Except Soft actually made good games. I don't hate Final Fantasy today (well Final Fantasy XIII ...) I hate SE because they destroyed a beautiful franchise.

Anywho, PS1 gave me Final Fantasy 7, which is til date, my favorite game of all time, FF8 and FF9 which also are among my favorites of all time.

It's the same as Bungie, Take-Two owned part of it, and to get the full ownership of the company Bungie had to give up an IP for the stocks(Oni). But in Naughty Dogs case it was Crash. Had Sony not wanted to pick them up, they would still have the Crash IP, and probably been part of Activision, but whatever >__>

its the PS3 for me, I have a PS2 and a PSP, but I wasn't a hardcore gamer for the PS2 so I didn't get to play most of the great games, and the PSP doesn't have that many amazing games, but my PS3 fills everything I want, my top 5 games are

1). LittleBigPlanet (how hasn't anyone mentioned this! :O)

2). COD4

3). MGS4

4). God Of War 3

5). Red Dead Redemption

Very close between the PS1 and PS3 for me but I give the slight edge to the PS1.

after i listed these games, i just realized that japanese games were amazing in 90s

ps1>ps2≈ps3 imo

Well I played a good deal of JRPG's on the PS 1 and loved it.  Then I moved on to FPS on the PC and then picked up an Xbox and stuck with them.  I did get a PS 2 after a while and really only played Final Fantasy games on it.  I got a 360 at launch and a PS3  a year and a half ago. Since I've grown accustomed to the 360 controller I play all multi-plat games on it and only play exclusives on my PS3 so I don't use it as much as I did my PS 1. 

Even though I only play WRPG's and not JRPGS's now I loved them on the PS 1 and played a lot.  It was my primary console so my favorite was the PS1.  I just haven't spent as much time with the PS2 or 3.  It's funny that the only games I played in the PS1 era were JRPG's and now I really don't care for them.  WRPG's just took over my RPG life.  I kind of miss the PS 1 era because all I played were JRPG's and now I basically play everything except them and have too many games to play.
